Spiritual Awakening: Martin Luther King Jr. Remembered
I was 2 1/2 years old when GOD called Martin Luther King Jr. home thus my knowledge of him comes from the watching of his speeches and what they taught us in school about him. In a very spirtual sense he was an action taker who understood his clling and his purpose. Through his passion and action he created many opportunities for those who otherwise would not have had a voice and who may never have been given the opportunity to excel. His dream that people should be judged on the content of the character instead of on the color of their skin is a work in progress as there are still many that have not awakened spiritually to understand that we are all divine children of GOD.
Today (1/21/13) we marked a milestone in history by remembering Martin Luther King Jr. while also swearing in President Barack Obama for a second term. The second bible that Barack Obama used to take his oath belonged to Martin Luther King Jr. As The inauguration ended President Obama and his family along with Joe Biden and his family stopped by The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Statue to honor the fallen civil rights leader.
Martin Luther King Jr. taught us that we are people with great power and to have faith in our power. He taught us about being true to ourselves and true to our purpose. He had the courage and conviction to come alive and share his message and as a result of his own awakening we know have better race relations in our country. We still have a long way to go to totally eliminate predjudice, however the more and more people awakening spirituality and making the commintment to show kindnes and love to oneanother the more inroads we will continue to make to keep Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream alive.
As you awaken spirituality and begin to share the concept of NAMASTE with others and truly show love and become a shining light for others to see you will see that your life will be enhanced both personally and professionally. You have the opportunity to remember the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr. and then implement them in your community thus keeping hopes and dreams alive of the next generation.
As I attended The Lauderhill Broncos Football and Cheer Awards Program and assisted as the emcee I made it a point to ackwoledge Martin Luther King Day and a few of the parents came up to me and said that was a good thing I did. I hope the kids were listening and will realize the important role that Martin Luther King Jr. played in the history of our country. Martin Luther King’s legacy is one of hope that we will come together as Americans and put all judgements aside and understand it is not about being right or wrong it is about doing the right thing.
This week as we mark the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. let us remeber our spiritual teachings of Faith, Hope, and Love and share with eachother our gifts so we can continue to be of service and value to one another. Let’s us serve as an exampe that service to humanity is the best work of life.
