Spiritual Awakening: 2013 Rose Parade Holds Messages of Spiritual Awakening!!!
From the opening segment when Hanah Storm and Josh Elliot welcomed the international tv audience to The Rose Parade to the final presentation by Coco Jones you could feel the warmth and the spiritual energy of the parade. Each float contained a story of hope and inspiration, especially the Canines With Courage Float which stoped along the route to allow a solider coming home from Afganistan to walk the routs to be reunited with his wfe and child. This scene brought tears to me as I began to realize one of the spiritrual messages and that is the mesage of love and hope to all. I witnessed many examples of spirituality during the parade such as the partnership between a high school band from San Jose and China showing us that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations. I witnessed the float dedicated to The National Organ Donor Foundation and remembered that my license reflects that I am an organ donor. The commentators framed the message that reflects balance as they explained that the float represents tears of sorrow and tears of joy. This shows us the pricinciple that there is a circle of life and when one life is called home another comes to the earthly plain.
Jane Goodall was the Grand Marshall of The Rose Parade and the segment of her reading Oh The Places You Will Go by Dr. Seuss was very moving. jane has been an inspiration to many with her work with animals specifically primates and showing how they can communicate. In her work she has shown us the many fruits of spirit that will continue to help us in our spiritual awakening process.
The Rose Parade of 2013 showed us all these fruits as Love was illustrated by a wedding on one of the floats, Joy was demonstrated by all the volunteers with their smiles, Peace was shown through people of all backgrounds being together for the common good of the community, Kindness was exhibbitted through the many who bought tickets for those who otherwise would never had had the experience of seeing the parade, patience was is full effect for those who campedout for 3 days sharing food and other provisions with fellow campers, goodness was expressed in all the charitable giving that occurred, gentleness was displayed through the handling of each float, and self control was on full display as Josh Elliot kept his composure while doing the Military Family Reunion Story.
