Spiritual Awakening: New Beginnings Inspired By President Obama
As I watched President Obama’s reaction to the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday and then again on Sunday one thought continued to come to me a time for new beginnings. I then turned to Ecclesiastes 3:1 and began to contemplate the reason for what seems another senseless act of violence and as I closed my eyes a thought occured to me that the 26 lives lost in this tragedy and the families affected give us reason to come together and begin to rebuild our country by turning to love and foregiveness and seeking ways to connect with others. We all now have a purpose and that is to get to know our neighbors and if they or their children are strugling to help them in any way we can. We now have a purpose to improve our mental health system, share the idea of spirituality with others, make others feel important. It is sad that it takes events such as The Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting to wake us up to our spirituality.
It will be very difficult for the community of Newtown, Connecticut to understand why this happened or what was its purpose however through tragic events often come triumph. Maybe the loss of 26 people will inspire someone to start a community outreach program, maybe it will inspire people to fundraise and name scholarships in honor of those lost, maybe it will create a shift to more love and compassion amongst each other.
Spiritual Awakening: Making a New Beginning Inspired by President Obama
As I watched President Obama I thought of the quote by John F. Kennedy and thought what of everyone did something kind everyday. I then thought of the story I have told before about Johnnie The Bagger, who was a mentally challenged child working at a grocery store who after a marketing seminar approached his father to help him make inspirational book marks to place in every customers bag. Johnnie made the inspirational book marks and began to place them in the customer bags at his line. One day the manager was walking through the store and noticed a big line by Johnnie’s check out line and offered to help customers at another register. One women said tahnk you but I came to get Johnnie’s Motivational Thought of The Day, i used to stop in and do my shopping once a week but now I come in 2-3 times a week to shop because of Johnnie’s Motivational Thought Of The Day. The manager then had Johnnie make up enough Miotivational Thoughts of The Day for each register. The manager met with other departments and began to find ways to uplift the customers for example broken roses and carnations are no longer thrown away they are saved and given to elderly women and children in the store, when a charity asks for bread from the bakery the unsold items are given to them. These action begin to inspire and shift people into a new mind set creating a new beginning.
As you continue to be inspired to help make a new beginning for yoursef and for others make it a point to be a giver. Become an action taker with an anthem to make a difference while awakening others to the idea that we answer a call to come together and help one another by coming alive and making a change to build a better community by knowing our neighbors and helping our neighbors.
A new beginning happens when we begin to realize that we may never know why but if we keep searching and dreaming and showing emotions that our feelings and action may comfort others and thus allow us to begin a new with a fresh mind set as we make the mind, body, soul connection. Imagime if we fellowshipped with our neighbors and interacted more face to face and began to show love for each other. If we pledge to make a difference and be aware of what is going on in our community we will be able to start new begininngs in all those we come in contact with.
In the wake of sadness let us all pledge to show love and compassion to others. Let the flow of love and kindness embrace you as you shine your light on others. May you find ways to be inspired to create new beginnings as you step into your greatness remaining grounded in your spirituality creating happiness in the most troubling of times. Honor those that have been lost by become more aware and inspiring others to find there I AM and by being awake that everything we experience contains a lesson.
Remember we are all teachers and we are here to enhance life by being a lifter and creating limitless beliefs spreading our love to others. It is through new beginnings that we make a mind, body, soul connection, creating peace within ourselves taht can be shared with others.
In the wake of the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut let us begin to lose ourselves in the service of others so we can find a new better self. By staying positiv and showing compassion we can create a positive shift and become the powerful beings that we can be affecting positive change and inspiring others to reach their full potential.
This week make it a point to help someone have a new beginning by making them feel important.
For those lost I wish you new beginnings in heaven while you watch over us here on earth.
