Spiritual Awakening: What Is Your Calling?
A question I am often asked is JDOGG, How do I find my calling? I answer with by seeing what is bringing you joy in your life and bringing joy to others. In finding your calling their may be challenges like the one I had this month where I took a job at a local bowling center and after 10 days was let go and told that I wasn’t meeting the owners expectations. I took this as a sign that GOD had a better plan for me. After I clocked out and told a few people the phone rang and it was another bowling center seeking a volunteer coach. I took this as God’s way of telling me that I was not meant to be behind the counter of a bowling center handing out shoes, and ringing people up for their bowling, but that I was meant to use my gift and coach and thus create joy for myself and others. Eachtime I have left a job or been asked to leave a job I have realized it is one more brick on the path to finding my calling.
Finding your calling is an everyday path that we walk as we continue to look at how we are spending our day. One way to find your calling is to track your day and make notes about the things that you are doing and the feelings they evoke. If your activities are evoking thoughts of joy and love and you feel energized by them then they are part of your calling. Many times we are conflicted because we feel we should be doing something more however the constraints of our everyday existence get in the way. One lesson I have learned is that God(source) will provide and give you direction. On Saturday 5/12/12 I received a phone call from my collegue Ken Gordon who owns www.Ibuygold.tv to set up an appointment to sell my gold chain and a pendant. As I met with him we began to talk and I realized part of my calling is to help other people excel.Ken mentioned he was looking to host more gold parties and if I could help I would receive a commission on all referrals. This was God’s way of telling me JDOGG you know a lot of people that can benefit from Ken’s Services and by helping Ken get clients you will help yourself. I took the message and began to act on it. Part of my calling is to be of service and value to others and to help them excel.
Many times finding your calling can be as easy as lighting a candle and sitting quietly and asking God, Source, The Universe, or whatever you choose to call your spiritual guides the question what is my divine purpose at this time? Through out your life your calling may change. Your calling may go from being a elementary school teacher to becoming a corporate trainer as your calling is to teach people and help them become better personally and professionally and thus your audience changes over time. You may go from being an athlete to being a coach or an announcer as the divine plan is for you to pass your knowledge on to others and take the lessons from the sport you played to help others derive the joy that you did. Through out the course of your life you may do many different things that relate to your calling. The answer will come in many forms and when the answer comes be willing to embrace it and take action to further your calling.
Spiritual Awakening: Answering Your Calling Makes You a Hero
It is when you follow your calling that you truly become a hero to others. You become a hero because they see that you are doing what you were meant to do and creating a life that you want to lead and they are inspired by your actions and as a result they begin to find their calling. many times it is the smallest of gestures through our calling that makes us look like heroes in the eyes of others. Simply by being authentic and realizing that part of my calling is to make people smile I have been called a Honetown. A hero lies with each of us and answering the question What is Your Calling will help you to find that hero.
