Spiritual Awakening: Brace For Impact!!!
When you hear the words brace for impact it normally conjures up the image that something bad is about to happen. How many of you when your read the headline thought oh no here comes a bad story? Well I am here to tell you that this is not a bad story but a story about personal, professional, and spiritual growth. I chose the title as a result of reviewing videos of me announcing sporting events, emcee charitable events, interview people for a TV Show that I used to host, and some speeches I delivered. I was reflecting and then began to read comments and began to understand the impact that I have been making by being of service and value to others. Despite some setbacks over the years I have been able to move forward and positively impact the lives of others. Though I may not have gotten recognition for this impact I know in my heart that I took the proper action to show people that service to humanity is the best work of life.
As you move forward in your spiritual journey you have a choice to become an action taker or an excuse maker. I becoming an action taker you may not see the impact that you are making directly as most people will not acknowledge your actions or the impact your actions have had on them however you can take solace in knowing that your positive actions are being seen by GOD. Sometimes we don’t see the impact immediately however we are given messages all the time to remind us to continue on our path toward spiritual enlightenment.
In looking back at my over 40 years of performing community service I realize the impact that I have made by staying positive, being authentic, and simply staying on the path that GOD has created for me. Along the way there have been many people who simply did not get me or did not understand where I was coming from or what my motives were. There have been doubters, naysayers, and haters however I chose to ignore them and went about what I knew in my heart was right. Despite some people taking advantage of me I have managed to survive and to continue to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. In many cases over the past 40 years I have come to learn that not everyone will be on the same page that I am on and as a result I just need to share my idea and then let go and let GOD sort it out. Sometimes people simply get so caught up in their human existence that they forget their spiritual base and thus their level of impact is diminished.
It is when we make a conscious decision to help others that we began to not only impact their lives but we also impact our lives. I derive great joy in knowing that my sharing different opportunities to be of service and value to others is leading to people making kindness and compassion as part of their daily lives. I recently posted on Facebook about my involvement in Relay For Life and received a comment about how I inspired someone to form a team for their local Relay. This put a smile on my face and a warmth in my heart as it reaffirmed that what I am doing is making an impact. If you find yourself having a tough time continuing on your spiritual path don’t quit take a moment and reflect that what you are doing is making a difference.
Many times life will throw us a curve ball making us want to quit and hang it all up because we start to question if what we are doing is all worth it but then we get a letter or message from someone we helped and it reignites our fire and our desire to make a positive impact in this world. We rest, relax, and rejuvenate and go on as quitting doesn’t serve us and impedes us from thinking globally and acting locally. It is when we take a time out and go for a walk in nature we realize that we are on earth for the purpose of making a positive impact in the lives of others as we also impact our lives. It is not quitting that our impact is realized and we realize that nothing can break our stride or stop us from achieving the greatness that is our birthright.
When we find those that support us and lift us our impact will be far greater than what we ever imagined. Stay Positive!!! Namaste!!!
