Spiritual Awakening: Born to Shine And Live Large!
Over the last couple of days as I was driving in my car and listening to 102.7 FM The Beach this song kept coming on. As I began to think what could it mean and how is this part of a spiritual awakening I realized it was a message to continue to take action and move forward with projects that I am working on. The song has come to become an anthem to remind me that I was born for a purpose. It has served to be an awakening when times seem the darkest allowing me to remember that if GOD brought me to it GOD will bring me through it. As I continue to follow my calling by being of service and value to others I have been able to make changes and come alive by committing to live large. The first step to living large is to commit to serving the community and finding something that you are passionate about as passion + action = success. As you start to live large it is important to detach from outcomes and find the best practices that will serve you and serve others. It is important to check your emotions and to understand that there is a time and place for everything.
As I was sitting in reflection finding ways to live large I found another great anthem in Mandisa’s song Born For This. In understanding that you were born for greatness and sometimes you have to be unconventional so you can step into your power and live large. Living large is about living a life of purpose and understanding what the mind can conceive your heart can believe and you can achieve. Knowing that you were born for this is a powerful tool to have in your arsenal so that you can live large.
We were all born free with the ability to live large. We have a power within that allows us to follow our divine purpose by helping other people to excel. It is when we help others get what they want that we get what we want. Living large is not about the fancy car, the expensive clothes, or the nice house. These are great to have but they should not define you. What should define you is that you are being your authentic self and living a life that you desire with the help of GOD. It is when we realize that there is more to life than our material possessions that we are able to live large and thus enhance our personal, professional, and spiritual lives.
When we tap into our inner divinity and we turn on the light inside of us we create opportunities to live large as we shine our light so bright that the world is illuminated. I was reflecting back on my many accomplishments in my 51 years on this earth and it was amazing that when I looked back on all the awards and accolades they held one thing in common they were all a culmination of me being of service and value to others. As a result of being committed to showing the world that service to humanity is the best work of life I have had some incredible experiences. One experience was the 6 months from July 2002- February 2003 when I was a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Philippines teaching English, Math, and Livelihood Skills to at-risk children at a Regional Rehabilitation Center For Youth. It was then that I really was living large and shining my light as I learned about gratitude and its power for it was in taking on an attitude of gratitude that I was able to stay centered, focused, and grounded. There was truly a sense of happiness that came into my life as I realized that you can strip away all the materialistic things and simply live by being spiritually guided by GOD. In letting go and letting GOD I was able to take the lessons learned in The U.S. Peace Corps and use them to live large back here in The United States by committing to using my talents for good. The journey continues one step at a time by being connected to GOD and allowing GOD to direct me so that I can shine my light and live large.
You were born to win as you are a divine child of GOD destined to shine your light and live large. As you continue on your spiritual path remember that peace, love, joy, and prosperity will come your way if you remember to stay focused, grounded, and centered in all that you do. Namaste!!!
