Spiritual Awakening: One More Day!!!
The news broke on Sunday morning of the passing of Jose Fernandez and 2 others in a boating accident. The world lost 3 young individuals who were being of service and value through their various platforms. An entire community mourned and looked for answers. This news left many asking fro just one more day to sped time with their loved ones who have been called home to GOD. Later in the day the news broke that Arnold Palmer had passed ad again many were saddened. As I sat in reflection of this news I began to realize that life is precious and that every moment should be cherished. Each day someone who s in your life is here on earth you should make it a point to acknowledge them and lift them so that you are not left wishing for one more day.
As I did my best to wrap my head around the passing of Jose Fernandez I began to look back on the passing of another one of my favorite baseball players, Thurman Munson, who passed on my 14th Birthday on August 2,1979. I started to understand that this is a circle of life and when GOD feels you have served your purpose here on earth he will call you home to his kingdom. As I watched the memorial for Jose Fernandez while I was working at Sinbad Sports I was in a quandary as to whether or not it was right to make money off of the tragedy of losing someone. I began to understand that it was the nature of the business that I was in and realized that with people purchasing jerseys and memorabilia it would help them through the grieving process. As I began to sell T he JoseFernandez items I realized that with each sale I was able to give a little bit of compassion to the lives of those that were impacted by Jose Fernandez. I was also reminded that I had a responsibility to be a shining light of hope and healing to those I came in contact with so that peace, love, joy, and understanding became the theme of the day. each day families across the world have to deal with the passing of those that have passed and when the passing is sudden it shakes the very core of their spirituality. It is at these times that we must realize that everything that occurs happens for a reason and the only one who truly knows why is GOD. When the passing of those that we admire come we must make sure that we carry on their legacy by bringing bliss and prosperity wherever we go. We can learn from Jose Fernandez to be joyful and grateful. We can learn from Thurman to be loving and compassionate. We can learn from those who have gone before us to be loving in all we do. It is through the trials and tribulations that we grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.
Many of those we love and admire are taken too soon. each time a life is taken many question as to why. We are left to seek the answer and the only answer that I have figured out is GOD needed that person in his Kingdom more than GOD needed that person on Earth. When I look at all the people that I have come in contact with that GOD has called home I think they were gone to soon. So I say to everyone reading this to make sure you connect with those you care about don’t wait to travel to see them, don’t wait to send flowers, don’t wait to call for if you do you will be longing for one more day.
As I lay down to sleep tonight I will take solace in the knowledge that I am now surrounding by angels watching over me and those angels will carry me forward as I seek to find warmth and comfort as I do my best to make head and tails of all that is happening around me. I have come understand that yesterday is gone and tomorrow may not come so today is what we have and that is why it is called the present. At the end of the day what will matter is how we used our gift of today to make a difference in the world. When we are called home to GOD what will our celebration of life look like?
It is in realizing that we may never pass this way again and that we may never cross paths with those we admire from a far that we can commit to making a positive impact on the lives of those we come in contact with through out the day by being a lifter. It is when we make every day count that we do not long for another day. If you haven’t spoken to someone in a while take a moment to drop them a note and say you were thinking of them so that when a day comes that they are no longer here on earth you can take solace in knowing that you were compassionate and caring toward them regardless of circumstances.
If you are hurting take some time to heal your wounds. Stay Positive!!! You’re Blessed!!! Namaste!!!
