Spiritual Awakening: The Name Game!!!
As I sat down to write this blog and further explore the spiritual awakening process I kept hearing the message of uniqueness and names. The first song that came to mind was Jim Croce’s I’ve Got A Name as it reminds us that we are all unique in our own right and our name has significance. I sat an pondered the meaning of my name Jonathan, which translates into sent from GOD. I then began to take some action and explore my Hebrew Name Yusel Simcha, which translates into Jonathan The Blessing. As I began to think about my name I began to reflect on the many things that have unfolded in my life and the work I have been doing to help others since I was very young. I began to realize that the name I have become most comfortable with is Jonathan. It took a big transformation to accept this name and use it as when I was younger I did not like it and shortened it to Jon and then one day it came to me that GOD directed my mother to give me the name Jonathan and I started using it ever since embracing it and its meaning. In playing games with my name I also began to realize that regardless of how we address GOD and the name we call him by GOD knows us by our name and watches over us to insure that we can create the prosperity that is our birthright.
Tommy Walker reminds us that GOD knows our name and that he watches us. Some may call this GOD source, spirit, universe, higher power, higher being, Allah, Buddah, Jesus. It does not matter what you call GOD what matters is that you forge a relationship with GOD and that you remember he knows your name and wants you to be successful.
I am often asked about why I use the name JDOGG and what my message is? The answer is JDOGG was a name given to me by my fellow U.S. Peace Corps Volunteers and Filipino counter parts when I served as A U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Philippines. The J is for Jessus the last G for God and if you take DOG backward you have GOD. This is the spiritual derivation of JDOGG and the reason I use it is because it stands out as people may not remember Jonathan or Lederman but they will remember JDOGG. Some when they first hear tell me it isn’t professional enough. I thank them for their input and hope that when they go and GOOGLE JDOGG Lederman that they find me. I also use Positive Broadcaster to express who I am and what I do. I have often said that it is important for you to like your name and embrace it and that if people don’t like it it is their issue not yours. I also believe that it is important to share message that you believe in like the shirt I am wearing in the photo that reads Count Your Blessings Not Your Problems. I encourage you to embrace the name that was directed by GOD to be given unto you. In embracing our name and understanding our name we are better able to be of service and value to others while we enhance our personal and professional life. In the embracing of our name we discover our calling and are better able to make the mind, body, soul connection and create a oneness consciousness with GOD and thus step into our power, use our talents wisely, and create a better world through peace and understanding.
Whatever you choose to call GOD remember he has plans for you that will lead you further than your plans.
It is when we begin to realize that our relationship with GOD regardless of how we address him determines our fate in life. It is when we have a full understanding that our name has meaning just as GOD’S name has meaning that we begin to unlock the great plan & answer the questions that may have been a mystery at this time. It is a fact of life that GOD chose our name and he has a master plan in place for us. The best thing to happen to us is being born and finding out why and then understanding our name. IN understanding our name and honoring GOD we create a bond that can bring us through any hardship and help us to better understand why certain things are happening in our life.
Each of us were given a name with an intended purpose. Stay Positive!!!
