Spiritual Awakening: Creating Sacred Space!!!
Today’s blog entry was is inspired by Coach Shantel Smith as she was the first to teach me about Sacred Space as I attended one of her gratitude workshops. Before we began the session Coach Shantel laid out some basic ground rules that the room we were in was sacred space and we were able to express our feelings with out fear of being judged. Coach Shantel had us all go to The Labyrinth and she explained the way to walk The Labryinth and how important it was to do it silently and allow our thoughts to just flow. The Labyrinth became a sacred space and the little sitting area became a place to gather thoughts and then journal allowing for major breakthroughs to occur. I learned that day that you can make any space a sacred space as long as you bring the proper energy with you.
In experiencing a spiritual awakening I have realized the importance of creating a sacred space everywhere you go. In your home it can be a small area inside or outside where you go to get reenergized be it through meditation or just sitting & enjoying some peaceful music or just writing in your journal. In your office it can be a quiet area that you dedicate to use for 15 minutes a day to gather yourself and re-center and ground yourself. On trips it can be place that you felt a good resonation and vibration from and decided to make this a place to practice your spirituality while enhancing your spiritual awakening. The key is to remember that your divinity lies within yourself and you yourself are a sacred being. I have often found going outside to my pool area and just quietly sitting and breathing creates a sense of tranquility that allows me to create sacred space & thus make the mind body soul connection.
In my condo I have creating a sacred space as when I soak in a bath I light candles and incense and use stones and crystals to help me to reflect, relax, and rejuvenate. I turn out the lights and I chant while sitting in a hot bath and I release any negative thoughts that may be creating blockages. I ask GOD for direction and to take away my burdens. I often will put on music like Janet Lee Kraft’s Songs From The Angels, or Hill City Music’s album. In using these tools I have found that I create sacred space and I carry that space with me wherever I go. In creating sacred space you are able to relieve much mental anguish that we all deal with on a regular basis. Sometimes in creating sacred space we may run into those who do not understand what we are doing or why we need to have our scared space. It is when we encounter these people that we tell them what we are doing and ask them to respect our sacred space. If they choose not to then pray for them.
I use stones and crystals in creating a sacred space so as to keep myself centered and grounded.
In many cases you can create a mobile sacred space where you carry a few stones or crystals with you so that while you are experiencing your spiritual awakening you are reminded that you are a divine child of GOD. I always suggest putting stones around your home or office to help create sacred spaces.
There are many sacred places you can travel to, however you have the ability to make every place you go a sacred place. You can shine your light bright from anywhere and thus you create a sacred and divine place just by you occupying the space.
In creating a sacred space you become a an action taker and thus enhance your spiritual awakening. In creating the sacred space you will further understand your calling and your purpose. The sacred space will allow you to come alive and to change your life and the lives of others. Wherever you choose to make your sacred space make it special for you. I have a spot at my pool area at The Large Clubhouse where I stand and just gather my thoughts. Many days there are ducks, iguanas, other creatures and they bring a peacefulness to the surroundings.
In developing your sacred space you may want to include quiet meditative music, stones, crystals, incense, spiritual symbols, candles, books, posters, and other tools to help you make the mind, body, soul connection.
As the caterpillar transforms into a butterfly you will also transform as you create sacred space. Stay Positive!!!
