As you go through the spiritual awakening process you will find it necessary to break down the walls that are holding you back and simply follow your heart understanding your mind will follow and GOD will sort everything out. It is when we break down the walls of fear and uncertainty that we are able to take action and start moving in the positive direction of our goals and dreams. Today is a great example of breaking down walls for as it is The $1 Million in One Day Challenge for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. I stopped by Marathon Gas to pick up a canister I had left to find out it had been stolen. The cashier told me oh when I left here last night it was here and it had money in it someone must have taken it. In the past I would have been angry but today I took a deep breath taking solace that whatever money was in the canister would be made up for as people would heed my call to donate. I was correct as I shared the donation page http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg4 on Facebook and 2 people donated bringing my total now to $1603.05 toward a goal of $2500. In breaking down the wall of anger and turning into compassion I was able to focus on the good that will come from the theft of the canister and that is more people will see my post and support the effort to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. As I took action and made a commitment to live the day by the anthem of stay positive I was able to break down walls of anger and fear and instead seek peace, joy, love, and prosperity. As I was posting the messages asking for donations some people decided to challenge my motives questioning how much The CEO and Staff Members on The American Cancer Society get paid. Instead of being flippant and obnoxious I simply used my knowledge gained over the last 17 years and showed people where the money goes. I have come to understand that in being passionate about a cause that nit everyone will share your passion or even like what you are doing and instead of building up what they are doing they will look to tear you down. This used to really piss me off but know I take it stride and I break down the walls of resistance by remembering that facts tell and stories sell and that not everyone will resonate with my message, however GOD will bring those that share my vision and thus we will break down the wall of resistance and excel. I have come to understand that if GOD brought me to it GOD will bring me through it and GOD will provide the support desired to break down the walls, overcome the challenges, and face everything and rise.
Spiritual Awakening: I Got Your Limits Right Here!!!
As many of my regular readers know I have a bit of a New York Edge about me as I spent 4 1/2 years at Hofstra University in Long Island NY, and I developed an attitude of I can do anything and you will not get in my way. I would often answers people I got your limits right here you gotta a problem with that. One of the things that I learned was that those who said it can’y be done were coming from a position of fear instead of abundance. I have often done things differently than others and many don’t understand. I was recently called on the carpet by The American Cancer Society for actions that I took to raise money for The Sunrise Relay For Life. I have done well so far with my methods and raised $768 toward a goal of $1000. My Donation Page is http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg4. I was told that a few patrons at Legends complained about me going table to table to collect donations. I had obtained permission from The GM and in a matter of a 1/2 hour collected $34 and was able to share Relay For Life literature with many people. I had one lady give me a hug and thank me for giving her the 1-800-acs-2345 number. Of course the executive director didn’t bring this up and focused on the patron that complained. I simply took a deep breath and realized that she didn’t understand that when you go table to table with the permission of a GM you will have some people who complain heck there are some people who will complain about anything. She said you should have arranged to set up a table and allowed people to come to you. As I have been doing fundraising for over 35 years I have found that having a table is not the most effective way to fundraise. I have found the most effective way is to go person to person with literature and make the ask. Some will complain and some will give that is simply the nature of what goes with fundraising. It was at this point that I thought I GOT YOUR LIMITS RIGHT HERE!!! I didn’t verbalize this as I realized that taking the conversation any further would be like wrestling a pig in the mud you both would get dirty but the pig would enjoy it. I have learned that when working with organizations there will be people who come from a position of lack and those who come from a position of abundance. I have also come to understand that many people have limiting beliefs and tell you why you can’t do something and focus on why it can not be done instead of finding a way to do it. I have come to learn that if someone is going to get upset because I asked them for a donation it is about them and has nothing to with me. When you take action and declare I got your limits right here you will encounter those who will doubt you, try to block you, and limit you. When you encounter these people all you can do is listen, take a deep breath, and then pray that one day they will go from limiting beliefs to limitless beliefs. I have learned that when you have limitless beliefs nothing can stop you.
When you find others who are willing to tell the world I got your limits right here embrace them and become a lifter so as to build dreams together. The key is to find the people who share in your vision and understand that we are all limitless and that we have talents that when used for the betterment of the world the world is improved as well as our personal, professional, and spiritual lives. When you believe that nothing is going to stop you you will become limitless. When we are determined to move forward in a positive direction of our dreams nothing is going to stop you and nothing will break your stride.
As I watched history being made by American Pharoah as he became the first horse in 37 years to win The Triple Crown I began to think about being victorious in our spiritual journey. Victor Espinoza, American Pharoah’s jockey visited the grave site of a very well respected Rabbi seeking divine guidance prior to the race. Bob Baffort, American Pharoah’s trainer spoke of the presence of his parents who had passed. American Pharoah’s owner is an Orthodox Jew. As I researched all the spiritual connections to this horse I thought wow if one is spiritual and righteous in their life they can become victorious in all they do. The journey for American Pharoah began with taking action followed by a lot of training. The end result was the breaking of a 37 year drought and a thirst for a Triple Crown Winner. The next step is some rest and then a few more races and then The Breeder’s Cup Race then American Pharoah will retire to stud.
As one looks at the cycle of American Pharoah’s Journey one can see how it relates to our everyday spiritual journey. It all starts with a spiritual awakening then taking action on the messages that come your way. For example the owner of American Pharoah was going to sell the horse and then decided to buy the horse back as stick with the horse and now the owner has a triple crown winner. This shows you that you must sometimes follow what your heart wants and listen to your inner divine guidance system. It may not be your plan to own, train, or ride a race horse but it may be your plan to positively impact the world by maximizing your message. You can become an award winner simply by shining your light for others to see and doing what you are directed by GOD to do. The other day I was notified that I had made it to the top 100 in The John Maxwell Leadership Awards and was a candidate for the top 30. I went to the website and filled out the essay questions and now will wait for the results. I have detached from the outcome and realized that simply being nominated was a victory because someone noticed what I was doing to be of service to my community. In watching American Pharoah I realized that each day we have an opportunity to be victorious in our personal, professional, and spiritual life.

The first key to being victorious is to take the first step. If you know what you want and go for it by taking a first step you will find success.
Eliminate fear from the equation by simply not asking what of it doesn’t work out ask instead what happens when it works out. Worry only holds you back. When you eliminate the fear and make the conscious decision to go for it you will see that you will have many success. I used to hold back and then I realized that by taking action and nt being afraid of what would happen and just doing that I was happier and more productive.
Get connected spiritually by creating a oneness consciousness that allows you to create the life that you want. Many ways to do this is through prayer and meditation. I recently tapped into some spiritual gifts that are helping me in making a mind, body, soul connection. As a result I now interact with people and do my best to make them feel good so as to crate a positive shift in energy that will lead to success.
