Spiritual Awakening: Finding A Sacred Place!!!

      NBA honors late reporter Craig Sager with colorful jerseys and a 'moment of joy' - Los Angeles Times      I was watching the replay of Graig Sager’s ESPY speech when he was talking about how he found a special place on his walk from his cancer treatment. The special space was the toy train set. He said he would stop and simply watch the train set and it lifted his spirits. As he spoke about his special place I began to think of how important it is to have a sacred place to help stay centered, focused, and grounded. Through out our lives we will have many memories of special places that we hold as sacred spaces that allow us to gain clarity and thus become action takers. I remember that I found a special place when I was in the Philippines serving as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. The sacred spot was a spot on the beach where I had many opportunities to be of service and value but most importantly it was a spot where I could write and reflect and stay connected to source. It was at this spot where I began to understand the importance of being spiritually aware and awoke. There were many a day that I simply took a jeepney ride to this spot to get away from any worries. After visiting the spot I felt rejuvenated and ready to take on any challenges that would come my way.

This space allowed me to detach from the world for a while  and to come alive so that I could be the change that I wanted to see in the world. When I returned home from The Philippines I was able to hold the memories of the lessons learned in this sacred space so that I could continue to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. When I returned home I spent time at my MOM and Step Father’s Home and I made a sacred spot out by the pool where I could just contemplate what my next steps would be in my spiritual journey. My MOM and Step Father have since been called home to GOD however the memory of them allowing me to stay at their home will last forever. When we can create sacred spaces we can gain tranquility that allows us to follow the spiritual guidance of GOD, Jesus, The Ascended Masters, and The Angels. The beauty of being spiritually awake is that you can create sacred space wherever you may be along your path.

One of the sacred spaces I have is the tiki hut by my pool area at my condo where I currently reside. I often find myself sitting under the tiki hut and observing the nature simply allowing the different messages to flow to me so that I can take the necessary action on those actions to attract more peace, love, joy, and prosperity into my life so that I can make a positive impact on my community. Having a sacred space will allow you gain more insight into your life as you continue to seek answers while on your spiritual journey. When creating your sacred space I recommend some essential oils, some candles, and some crystals.

Once you have your sacred space established make sure you keep it clean and fresh so that you only attract positivism into the space. If you find that negativity is creeping into your sacred spaces simply sage the area and pray. Once you establish sacred space remember it is in that space that you can enhance the mind, body, and soul connection.

I have found that having some type of meditation cards in my sacred space help to find the answers that I am seeking at that time. In utilizing the cards I find that I am able to set a tome that will allow me to be open to receive the messages that are being sent so that I can take appropriate action to bring more bliss and abundance into my life. It is in creating sacred space and using a few tools that we are able to tap into our inner divinity and move toward enlightenment. It is when we enter the sacred space that we are reminded that we are divine children of GOD and GOD wants us to prosper so we can prosper others. May you create a sacred space that allows you create the life that you desire as you continue along your path.

Spiritual Awakening: Leaving A Memorable Legacy!!!

     As we awake spiritually we must commit to leaving a worthy legacy. What we do for ourselves will die with us but what we do for others will live on long after we are gone so ask yourself how will you leave a memorable legacy. What will people remember you for? How will you lay a foundation that shows the communities where you lived, worked, and played that you were there and that you were of service of value to others? Now is your time to take action to leave a memorable legacy that will enhance future generations so that they will experience bliss and abundance. The time has come to reflect on the differences that you have made in the lives of others by asking yourself did I live my life in joy and did my life bring joy to others. If you can say yes to these questions you can say you had a decent life. In today’s world where it seems that we are being bombarded by negativity and divisiveness we need to find ways to be positive and lift others so that our legacy will be memorable. Your opportunity to change the way things are going is now and all it takes is to make kindness and compassion a priority. When you commit to leaving a memorable legacy you will find yourself attracting more peace, love, joy, and prosperity into your life. You have the power to heal the world.

      You may think but I am only one person but what can I do. You can do so much once you decide to become an action taker and to put your passion into action as passion + action = success. When you awaken spiritually and come alive by answering your calling to positively impact your community you will experience a change that propels to continue on a path that will leave a memorable legacy. The fact remains that you are a divine child of GOD and GOD wants you to prosper so you can prosper others. Many people miss out on  the opportunity to leave a memorable legacy as they come from a position of lack rather than of abundance. I know for many that are reading this entry it may seem as though things are tough and you may be afraid of what is next. I am here to tell you that if you face everything and rise you will see miracles as you believe that you have the ability to leave a memorable legacy.

      I was reflecting back to when I was 12 years old and I got run over by a golf cart. The paramedics said I was very lucky as if the tires had been a couple inches to either side of my chest I would not have survived. I think this is when the spiritual awakening process began for me and when I decided to be of service and value to others. Since that time I have been dedicated to helping many charitable causes. Through out high school and through college and now today I do my part to help other people to excel. The year was 1989 and I was at a 4th of July Celebration and their was a group of people circulating a petition to ban the burning of the American Flag. I began to speak with them and found that they were members of The Jaycees (Junior Chamber Of Commerce) an their mission was to provide leadership training through community service to people 18-40. I was invited to attend a meeting and at the meeting was asked to join. I said yes and from 1989-2002 and then again from 2003 until 2008 was part of The Jaycees where I learned valuable skills that serve me today. From July of 2002 until February I served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Philippines where I taught English, Math, and Livelihood Skills to at at-risk boys at A Regional Rehabilitation Center For Youth in Bauang La Union. I share this with you in hopes that you will be inspired to find ways to enhance your personal, professional, and spiritual life by showing the world that service to humanity is the best work of life. The greatest gift we can give once we awaken spiritually is the gift of service. You don’t have to have wealth all you have to do is have a desire to serve and help others. It all starts with tapping into your inner divinity and following the guidance of GOD so that you leave a memorable legacy. It is stated that if you touch one life in a positive way you change the world.

Spiritual Awakening: Get Bent!!!

Not what you thought, huh? Many times we think of telling someone to get bent is a bad thing in this case it is a good thing as we are telling them to make a mind, body, soul connection so as to manifest the life that they desire. In taking action to get bent we expand our horizons as we stretch to go beyond what we once thought were our own limitations. In becoming an action taker and helping others to get bent we bend ourselves as we experience new concepts that help us to awaken spiritually thus giving us the correct perspective to answer our calling and to become the change we want to see in this world. In getting bent we are able to put ourselves in a favorable position to be of service and value to others. In being of service and value to others we open up the channels to receive therefore creating a life that we desire as planned by GOD. In getting bent we can become more in tune with the concept that we are divine children of GOD and GOD’s plan for us is far greater that the plan we have for ourselves.
 When I was in The Philippines serving as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English, Math, and Livelihood Skills at The Regional Rehabilitation Center For Youth I was able to get bent by practicing some of the traditional Filipino Dances and after a session of dancing I would find myself invigorated and reenergized knowing that I was being of service and value to others. In my 7mnths of service I found myself becoming more and more spiritually aware and awake and getting bent became a daily practice be it dancing, meditating, walking, or simply stretching I found myself becoming more and more connected to GOD, The Ascended Masters, and The Angels. In getting bent and staying connected to GOD I was able to create a great experience which I draw on today to remind me that I am on this earth as a human having a spiritual existence that will manifest into the life that I desire. In getting bent I have been able to shift from darkness to light. In many case I simply get bent by playing some soothing music and stretching thus getting me back to being centered, focused, and grounded.

Spiritual Awakening: Please Rise!!!



In the course of my life these 3 anthems have played a role in my spiritual development. The first one is The National Anthem of Israel, the second  is The National Anthem of The Philippines, and The third is The National Anthem of The United States. each one brings me back to times that helped in my personal, professional, and spiritual development. In the last few days as I sat in quiet meditation I began to reflect on the symbolism of each anthem and how they molded me in becoming an action taker. I then realized that as I have done many cultural events I have stated the words please rise for the playing of (Insert Anthem Here). I then started to think how many times I must of stood for each of these anthems be it competing in The local Macabi Games, competing in swim meets, or serving as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Philippines. In each case I stood and really focused on the words and found that they shared a common thread of respecting and honoring your country while being of service and value to others. Over the years when I have announced games or emceed events I have seen many people sit idly bye and not respect the colors of the nation that is being presented. Not standing for an anthem really doesn’t do anything. If you are unhappy with the ways things are in a country and you believe you have the power to change it then it is up to you to tap into your inner divinity and take action to improve the quality of life for everyone. This is a big responsibility so now is the time to rise and take action to spread positivism.

As you move forward and rise toward the life GOD has planned for you you will start to understand that if you are given great talents it is important for you to share them. When I was Bar Mitzvah in 1978 I spoke of the fact we have a responsibility to be of service and value in all that we do as we owe it to those who sacrificed so much so that we can have a better life. Many said how full of wisdom I was for a 13 year old others said I was full of something else. Now here I am nearly 39 years later sharing the same concept encouraging people to rise for one another and to be of service and value. Over the years the concept of being of service and value have entered my life on many occasion. When I entered high school I looked for ways to help others and this continued through out my college days and today I do my best to show people that service to humanity is the best work of life. Again some say the message is full of hope and healing while others say it is full of something else. I have decided to focus on those who are encouraging and supportive and to allow doubters, haters, and naysayers to go pound sand. As a result of sticking to the belief that I was put on the earth to serve others I have risen to heights that i could never have imagined. I have had experiences that some only dream about. I have accepted that there is much expected from me because I have always given 100% when I chose to rise up and become an action taker. If we are going to be the change we want to see in the world we must rise and show respect for ourselves and others by answering our calling and coming alive by positively impacting the lives of those we come in contact with. It is imperative that we grow personally, professionally, and spiritually by rising up and showing respect and compassion to others.

Spiritual Awakening: The Spiritual Party!!!

Imagine for a minute that life is made up of one big spiritual party consisting of GOD’S Great Dance Floor. The truth is that you can turn your life into one big spiritual party by becoming more aware and awake as you live your life on purpose. As you commit to become an action taker you will find that you are tapping into your inner divinity more and more and using your divine guidance system which will allow you to attract peace, love, joy, and prosperity into your life. You will find yourself breaking free from the shackles that are imprisoning you and creating blockages when you begin to dance on GOD’S great dance floor. When you begin to treat life as a spiritual party you will find that bliss and abundance come into your life.
During your spiritual party you will want to praise GOD as he has allowed you to remove the chains of bondage and thus now you can dance like no one is looking and give GOD the glory for the life that GOD has helped you to manifest. If we truly praise and thank GOD and do everything to glorify GOD we can host the best spiritual party ever. The people who attend our spiritual party will be so filled with the power of spirit that they will step into their power and achieve greatness by spreading positivism and kindness to all that come in contact with them. As you host your spiritual party remember that it is is important to spread your wings and follow your heart.
There will be people like Sammy’s Boss who try to stop your spiritual party. It is important to not listen to them and to spread your wings and fly to heights that you never imagined. It is when you begin to spread your wings and step out of your comfort zone that life becomes a spiritual party. When you create your own spiritual party and understand that you are free to create the life you desire while being guided by GOD you will grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Spiritual Awakening: Grooving On A Sunday Afternoon!!!

As I sat down at Starbucks to write this entry I took a quick look around and it was amazing to see all the people simply grooving on a Sunday Afternoon. There was a group playing Rummy O, a guy working on editing his photography, people reading, and others simply enjoying life.  As I absorbed all this great positive energy I began to think how important it is to be spiritually awake and in tube with your inner divinity so as to attract much peace, joy, love, and prosperity into your life. I began to realize that if you want to manifest happiness and abundance into your life you must exude happiness and come from a place of abundance. So many times we get caught up in the things we can not control that we forget to take charge of what we can control and thus we create blockages that get in the way of grooving not only on a Sunday afternoon but everyday. Now the question is how are we going to awaken spiritually and take control of our lives and let GOD be our guide. The answer is to first embrace the fact that you are a divine child of GOD destined for greatness. After that it is important to make a commitment to yourself to take care of yourself so that you can be of service and value to others. Then after you begin to be of service and value start to release that which no longer serves you. As you continue to follow your path guided by GOD  you will see that when you are connected to GOD you will see great things unfold so make it a priority to praise and honor GOD daily so that you can grove everyday and reach your higher calling.

Spiritual Awakening: Tools To Help You Groove Everyday!!!

I have found that The Serenity Prayer, Positive Affirmations, and The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz  to be excellent tools in assuming an attitude that will allow me to be open to grooving daily.

I have learned that music can be a great way to get into the groove and to vibrate on a higher level that attracts people  to you so that you can manifest the life that you desire.

 

Over the years I have discovered that books such as these and others available by following the Hay House Link on this page are excellent tools to help you get into the groove.

Kindness is a trait that when put into action serves as great tool to groove daily.

 Giving praise and glory to GOD is a fantastic tool to help keep you centered, focused, and grounded so that you can groove everyday and live life to the fullest.

 

 Essential oils and incense are excellent tools to use while clearing your mind so as to groove daily.

Meditation has served as an exceptional tool in releasing that which may be stopping you from grooving daily.

Take a moment to walk in nature and create a sacred space where you can go to communicate with GOD, The Ascended Masters, and The Angels so as to receive the guidance that will allow you to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually as you continue to make the mind, body, and soul connection.

Find spiritual places like The Rice Terraces in the Philippines and take a trip without all the accouterments that we have grown accustom to and simply take in the messages as you get connected to source. Sometimes the greatest tool we have is our ability to detach and disconnect from the human life that we have come to know and get in touch with our divinity.

 

When I find it difficult to get into a groove or I find myself stuck I use the tool of reflection to remind me just how good my life has been and I remember times that brought great joy and a sense of accomplishment into my life like the 6 months from July 2002 – February 2003 when I was a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Buang La Union, Philippines. I look at the photo of the church and the arch and I realize how many lives I touched and how the people in this community changed my life and it gets me into a positive frame of mind knowing that I am capable of great things and if I can not do great things to do small things with great love. It is said that photographs and memories are great tools to help you get into the groove.

Spiritual Awakening: We Are All GOD’S Children!!!

As the news came in about Paris, Nigeria, Bali, Beirut, and other parts of the world about acts of terror I kept thinking we are all GOD’S children and now is time to show the world that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations.  As I scrolled through my Facebook Page and saw all The French  Flags I thought why not a universal peace flag that would encourage people to show love toward one another.

I saw many people spewing anger and saying things like you can not coexist with people who want to kill you. I thought about Gandhi and the quote an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and how important it is to find ways to allow people to simply be who they are and to drive out hate by showing love. If we were to focus on the root of the issue with terror and how it has become the topic of the week we would see that many people are so caught up in proving that they are right they forget about doing the right thing.  I then decided to change my focus and started posting positive things  and encouraging people to do the same. Instead of just sending prayers to Paris I began to send prayers to the world emphasizing that we are all GOD’S Children. I then went back to the teachings of Don Miguel Ruiz and The Four Agreements.

If we spent more time teaching this and showing love and compassion toward each other our world would be a better place. If we began to recognize that everyone is a divine child of GOD and GOD doesn’t make any junk we could build people up and thus alleviate the many challenges that we face in our lives. In many cases it is hard to detach from the events that are being reported in the media. What if instead of focusing on the negative that people are doing we begin to focus on the good that people are doing imagine how illuminated our world would be.  If we could simply come together and understand that we are all GOD’S Children our world would become a true kingdom of GOD while we are here on earth.

When I saw this story about millions of children meditating in Thailand I thought where are the big media outlets to cover this? I then thought wouldn’t it be great if all of us on  social media started a movement to profess our love for one another and spread a message that we are all GOD’S Children? On my Facebook feed I have been sharing stories that I have found to be inspiring and empowering.

 

We can be angry at the terrorists but that anger will not serve us we must show love and compassion toward our fellow humans as well as animals and start to think globally and act locally. Instead of seeing the problems let us actively seek the solutions to embrace the people that come into our lives by showing love. Let us not force our beliefs on anyone and simply understand that as long as we do no harm and make a connection with GOD that things will change for the better.

I found this song and it was fitting that it was performed by someone in The Philippines as I was a U.S.  Peace Corps Volunteer from July 2002 – February 2003 in The Philippines working with at risk youth at a Regional Rehabilitation Center For Youth. It was there that my belief that faith in GOD gives meaning and purpose  to human life was reinforced and that I began to understand that we are all GOD’S Children.

A great reminder to praise GOD and be grateful for all the good he has done in my life.  It is in honoring GOD and recognizing that we are all GOD’S Children that we have the opportunity  to make a positive shift in this world.

 It is when we begin to spread love and see that we are all GOD’S Children that we begin to open the channels to improve our personal, professional, and spiritual life. It is through GOD that all things are possible. The next time you see a stranger do not judge simply look up and smile and recognize that they are one of GOD’S children. It is when we all become a shining light for the lord by being of service and value that we create a oneness consciousness that lights up the world.

Remember  that you are a divine child of GOD.  Stay Positive!!! Peace!!!Love!!! Joy!!! Prosperity!!! Namaste!!!

As I was driving in to WRPBiTV today i was listening to Reach FM and Third Day’s song Soul On Fire was playing and I immediately thought how important it is to be a soul on fire and create a oneness consciousness that will strengthen the bond of mind, body, and soul. Have you ever gotten so excited about something that became an action taker and started out really fast and then the fire in your heart and soul started to dwindle as you experienced trials and tribulations and you stopped pushing forward? I think we have all been there, I know I have.  Through out the spiritual awakening process I have learned that as long as there is a single burning ember in your soul you can fan that flame and ignite a fire that propels you past your negative self talk and all the negative outside influences that doubt your ability to achieve.  It is when you become a soul on fire that you can overcome your doubts and the doubts of others.

When you are seeking to set your soul on fire it is important to look inside ourselves and draw from our experiences that drove us to succeed so we can create more successes. As I marked a 1/2 century on earth on August 2 I sat in quiet reflection and realized that I had accomplished many great things because of my soul being set on fire.  I have written previously about how my soul is on fire to show the world that service to humanity is the best work of life. I have lived by several beliefs that still burn in my soul today and one is that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations. This was best illustrated by my U.S. Peace Corps Service from July of 2002- February 2003 in The Philippines as I served as a Community Services Educator at a Regional Rehabilitation Center For Youth in Bauang, La Union. Each time I sense the fire to continue to be of service and value  smoldering and about to go out I draw on the memories of those 6 months and I get fired up again. I have a CD with The Philippines National Anthem and some other local Filipino music that I play to get me fired up and to remind me why I am setting my soul on fire.
Each time I play The Philippines National Anthem  I rekindle a spark and and able to start a fire in me that hopefully will burn bright enough to illuminate the world to show people that  there is hope and healing all around and that together everyone accomplishes more.

As you fan the flames in your soul and fan the flames with purpose you will set your soul on fire and you will not be stopped. I have stated that the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you figure out why. When you discover your why you will see that the flame in your soul can not be extinguished. When you commit to being lead by GOD and your passion and you decide to take action by starting a fire in your soul you will see a great deal of growth in your personal, professional, and spiritual life. Once that flame is lit in your soul the only one who can extinguish it is you.

Spiritual Awakening: The Best Day Of My Life!!!

As I sit at Starbucks today to write this entry I start to think how everyday can be the best day of my life. Through the spiritual awakening process I have come to understand that each day we awake we have the opportunity to create a day filled with peace, love, joy, and prosperity. If we wake up and the first thought we have is that today is the day the Lord hath made be glad and rejoice in it we will have a blessed day that will be the best day of my life. Each day is a new day to tap into our inner divinity and make that connection with GOD to create a oneness consciousness. If we are to achieve peace we must first become peaceful. Once we become peaceful we can make everyday the best day of our lives. It is great that we accumulate photographs and memories and can use them to move forward in a positive direction of our dreams, however if we continually bring up the memories we may be hindering our personal, professional, and spiritual growth.

 Looking back at the photographs and remembering the memories that they represent can motivate us to take steps to move forward along our spiritual journey. In being motivated to move forward we are able to shine our light bright for others to see and subconsciously we give others permission to shine their light and the whole world is then illuminated. In taking action t make each day the best day of your life you are able to put aside that which may be holding you back and release it so you can be motivated to move forward. I have  found that meditation on the past and learning from the messages that the past has delivered is a great way to still remember while at the same time moving forward.  Every now and again it is great to look at the highlights of your life and then make plans to take action to create new highlights.

Spiritual Awakening: Up, Up, And Away!!!

During the spiritual awakening process sometimes it is necessary to get another perspective or see things from a different vantage point. Think about what it would be like to look at things from above and how differently things would look when you were above them as opposed to below them. I remember a trip to The Empire State Building and how fearful I was of the height and how I was making every excuse not to get on the elevator to the observation tower when a friend said Jonathan take a deep breath hold my hand and we will go up, up, and away together. I got on that elevator with my eyes closed and as we ascended to the observation deck I began to open my eyes and I saw New York City from a totally different perspective and I realized then that when you look at the world with your eyes wide open that you gain a new appreciation for what you see and even overcome some fears. By being willing to go up, up, ad away with my friend I was able to apply the experience at The Empire State Building to my personal and professional life and when I found myself fearful I would simply say time to go up, up, and away. In using that as a mantra and an anthem I have been able to conquer several fears and thus face everything and rise instead of forgetting everything and running.  Each time I listen to The 5th Dimension Song Up, Up, and Away my mood becomes more pleasant and joyful and I think what would it be like to get in the Hot Air Balloon and just see the beauty of nature and life from the vantage point of that balloon. The closest I have  come to this has been on airplanes and flying has always been a bit difficult for me as I don’t like to give up control. In learning how to let things go and giving up control I have been able to see things from a different perspective. I recall my plane flight from San Francisco to Manila for my work as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Philippines and arriving for a stop over in Tokyo as we approached Toyko’s Airport for landing I looked out the window and I saw some of the sacred temples and thought wow how great this is to be able to see these great historical structures and draw the positive energy from them. I didn’t venture outside the Tokyo Airport however as we were transferring planes I did stop at the gift shop and took in as much as I could to soak in the positive energy. I made it to the gate to board the plane for the final leg of the trip and all the while I get thinking how great this is that I get to go up, up, and away. As we made the final approach into Manila I looked out the window and I saw McDonald’s and thought well at least if I don’t enjoy the Filipino food I will have McDonald’s. We landed and quickly met our Filipino counterparts and claimed our luggage and made our way to where we would stay for orientation. That night I made my way to one of the large hotels in Manila and I took the elevator to the top floor where the pool deck was and I looked out onto Manila and realized just how lucky I was to have the opportunity to be a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. Over the next 6 months I would put fear and doubt aside and do things that I never thought possible like hiking 10 km up a mountain to the botanical gardens.
Talk about going up, up, and away. When I arrived at the top there was a sari-sari store. I quickly said Gusto Ko Nong Tubig ( I would like water) I bought 4 bottles and walked around the gardens listening to the birds, watching the monkeys, and just admiring the beauty of where I was and taking in the moment. Ne of the workers asked you walk up the mountain? I said yes. he said okay me take you down in Jeepney when you ready.  I did take the jeepney down the mountain and thanked him for the ride. As I walked back into town I realized that sometimes it is when we go up, up, and away that we have our greatest awakenings. While I sat on the bench under a tree with flowers blooming around me and birds flying freely I realized that it is not about the materialistic that matters but the spiritualistic.
