Spiritual Awakening: Gaining Strength By Giving Back!!!

 

      It was 24 years ago in Coral Springs, Florida when I first heard these words and they have become part of my spiritual awakening. When I joined The Jaycees in 1989 I never imagined that my years of service would mold me into an action taker and enhance my spiritual path. I remember a cold day in December of 1989 when The Coral Springs Jaycees gathered to take needy children holiday shopping and thinking wow we are making a positive impact on the lives of others. I continued my service with The Jaycees until July of 2002 when I left to become a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Philippines. My service in the Philippines propelled me even further along my path of spiritual awakening. It was in The Philippines that I was able to truly understand the anthem of assume an attitude of gratitude. Upon my arrival back in The United States in February of 2003 I vowed to help other people excel. I quickly rejoined The Jaycees and helped to chair many projects. I began speaking at functions sharing the idea of being spiritually connected and staying positive.  The strength I gained by giving back has shown me that by embracing my divinity and shining my light I am making a positive difference in thieves of those I come in contact with. I have looked at all the awards I have won and I have realized that the wood rots, the metal tarnishes, but the memories last forever. I have had several spiritual awakenings while being of service and value. I have been awakened to a calling to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays and for the last 10 years have been dedicated to doing just that raising over $20,000 for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. I have found that to be the change you want to see in the world you must take action and when spirit directs you do not question just take action. It is when you help others get what they want that you will get what you want and you will come alive and discover things that you never thought you were capable of doing and find that you are doing them.

 The strength you gain when you give back is amazing.  When you help your community you gain a sense of awakening as you recognize that one person, you are making a difference. Through service you gain strength as your relationship with GOD is strengthened and you begin to receive favor from GOD as you put other people before yourself. You begin to find your purpose and as you live your life on purpose you are rewarded.

Spiritual Awakening: Bringing The Vision To Life!!!

     

 

How many times have you had a vision during meditation or in a dream and you heard the message but you found every execuse possible not to move forward. As I sat down to lunch today I started to look at the visions I have brought to life and how I have helped others with bringing their vision to life. In all cases the same theme cam to mind it happened because action was taken. In many cases the visions we bring to life helps with our spiritual awakening as they enable us to see our true greatness as we continue to make the mind, body, soul connection.

Spiritual Awakening: Example of Bringing Visions To Life!!!

La Bonita Kidz & Teenz The owner and founder of La Bonita Kidz and Teenz held a vision of developing a magazine that would help mothers of middle school, high school, and college aged students to find resources to help their children. This vision was brought to life on March 8, 2013 when Shanta Tanksley produced The Inagural Issue of La Bonita Kidz and Teenz Magazine with The Spring Issue. Her vision is to improve the magazine each quarter and continue on with another vision to open a teen center so as to help teens cope with the challenges they face everday.     Last year I had a vision to host an event that would honor oustanding people in the community and raise funds for The Reaching Out To Cancer Kids (R.O.C.K.) Program and on March 24,2012 I brought this vision to life. It was an excellent event with over 40 people attending and being empowered and inspired by our speakers. Through the planning procees there were times I wanted to stop and then I shifted my energy and realized that this is the type of event that people will attend as they like to explore their spirituality.  Through finding the award winners my spiritual awakening continued because each winner and each speaker brought a spirtual insight into bringing this vision to life. As The Host I was able to answer my calling by being of service and value and enabling people to maximize their message. Those in attendance were given tools to bring their visions to life so as to affect change in their lives and in the lives of others. The event truly showed what can happen when a community comes together and when people follow their dreams.

Spiritual Awakening: Being Yourself In The Political Correct World

 

On question I am asked often is JDOGG how do you stay authentic in this political correct world? I answer as challenging as it is I remain true to myself and loook at my divinity and make sure that I am doing everything to answer the calling of Source. By taking action and being and example of my anthem that service to humanity is the best work of life I find myself answering my calling making the neccessary changes nedded to come alive and be of service and value to the community. It is in the following of dreams and encouraging others to follow their dreams that I am able to cope with the emotions of the political correct world. One of the conversations I had with my mother before she passed was on a concept called fearless painting. The idea is to just paint regardless of the feelings that other may have paint because you feel the emotion and you know what you want the finished product to represent. By going with the flow from source and answering your call and being yourself you will maneuver through this political correct world.

 

As you can see I am not a fan of political correctness. I am all for tolerance and understanding and getting to know people and to create a world filled with greatness, however I know that I may offend some people along the way. To this I say some will, some won’t, some waiting, so what next. Recently I sent a tweet aboit my fundraising efforts with The American Cancer Society followed by a retweet of a bible verse and I lost 14 followers going from 1560 to 1546. At first I was upset and then I realized that if my passion and commitment doesn’t sit well with people do I want them following me anyway. On Facebook I have a group Get Motivated With Jonathan JDOGG Lederman that at one time had 160 members and today has 145. This is due in part to me not being afraid to speak my mind and stand by the messages that source is delivering.

Spiritual Awakening: Wake Up and Be Who You Are

I was having a conversation with Debbie Ford on her radio show on Wednesday when she mentioned that there is a time to be phony like when she is at a book signing and feeling tired and has to put on the smile and sign more books and take pictures. She also mentioned about going to someone who may be sick and telling them they look okay. I felt like yelling Debbie Wake Up and Be Who You Are.  Many times as we are on our path we may find ourself being “PHONY” which at times does serve us, however I find it is best when you are authentic and truthful. If you are truly going to be awakened you have to be true to yourself and others. In many cases you see a need to act a certain way to placate the situation.  If you do not derive pleasure from the experience of signing books and can not be enthusastic without having to fake it then you need to change what you are doing. I know that it can be draining to take pictures, sign books, and go to many dinners, however that is what you chose. I ask did you chose this to make money or did you chose this because you truly believe in what you are preaching.

Spiritual Awakening: Put Your Love Glasses On!!!!

 

I have often said it is when we look at the world with love and put our love glasses on that great things happen. What are you doing to put your love glasses on? I have this ritual in the morning where I look in the mirror and I say  I love me  and today I will show love to others. Sometimes it is difficult as people come into my life through the day that can be challenging, it is at those times when I take a deep breath and do my best to be loving.

I listen to Janet Lee Kraft’s  Love is The Highest Way and I am reminded that we should be loving and caring in all that we do. As you shift to love many great things begin to unwind and you begin to see things in a different light. The light of love begins to open more doors and create a better life. There are many ways to spread love.

Spiritual Awakening: Against All Odds

This post was inspired by the Phil Collins song Against All Odds as I was thinking how many of us are beating the odds and making a positive impact in the world. I started to ask what odds were you given and did you accept them or did you say the heck with the odds I am going to do it anyway. When Dr. Wayne Dyer was  looking for a publisher he was turned down on several occasions for his book Your Erroneous Zones, however he didn’t give up or give in he found a publisher and he began to promote and as a result has become one of the top professionals in the personal development field. The power to overcome the odds lies with in us all as we become action takers and go forward in the positive direction of our goals and dreams. Many may tell us it can’t be done because they themselves fear trying to do what we are doing. Many have baggage that they haven’t worked through or haven’t unpacked. As you unpack and release your baggage you will see that you can become an achiever and go against all odds.
