As you go through the spiritual awakening process you will find it necessary to break down the walls that are holding you back and simply follow your heart understanding your mind will follow and GOD will sort everything out. It is when we break down the walls of fear and uncertainty that we are able to take action and start moving in the positive direction of our goals and dreams. Today is a great example of breaking down walls for as it is The $1 Million in One Day Challenge for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. I stopped by Marathon Gas to pick up a canister I had left to find out it had been stolen. The cashier told me oh when I left here last night it was here and it had money in it someone must have taken it. In the past I would have been angry but today I took a deep breath taking solace that whatever money was in the canister would be made up for as people would heed my call to donate. I was correct as I shared the donation page http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg4 on Facebook and 2 people donated bringing my total now to $1603.05 toward a goal of $2500. In breaking down the wall of anger and turning into compassion I was able to focus on the good that will come from the theft of the canister and that is more people will see my post and support the effort to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. As I took action and made a commitment to live the day by the anthem of stay positive I was able to break down walls of anger and fear and instead seek peace, joy, love, and prosperity. As I was posting the messages asking for donations some people decided to challenge my motives questioning how much The CEO and Staff Members on The American Cancer Society get paid. Instead of being flippant and obnoxious I simply used my knowledge gained over the last 17 years and showed people where the money goes. I have come to understand that in being passionate about a cause that nit everyone will share your passion or even like what you are doing and instead of building up what they are doing they will look to tear you down. This used to really piss me off but know I take it stride and I break down the walls of resistance by remembering that facts tell and stories sell and that not everyone will resonate with my message, however GOD will bring those that share my vision and thus we will break down the wall of resistance and excel. I have come to understand that if GOD brought me to it GOD will bring me through it and GOD will provide the support desired to break down the walls, overcome the challenges, and face everything and rise.
Through my spiritual awakening I have come to adopt some new F words into my way of doing things so that I can move forward and become an action taker. One of those F word is forgiveness. I have found by simply detaching from what happened and forgiving those who may have hurt you and forgiving them is a very freeing experience and it unlocks those emotional blockages that may have been holding me back. In forgiving you remove things that may have stopped you from moving forward. In forgiving others you also want to forgive yourself while also seeking forgiveness. It is when we forgive and are forgiven that we can rise above all the challenges that have been put before us. The hardest thing we will ever have to do if we are to be truly spiritually enlightened is to forgive and seek forgiveness.
Many times in our life we must seek forgiveness for we didn’t know what we were doing and we didn’t look beyond the act to understand the consequences. As we evolve in our spirituality we must remember that we are not perfect and that no one else is perfect and mistakes will be made, people will do things that hurt us, but we must remember we are not forsaken we are redeemed and GOD knows our name. If you believe you have been wronged take a moment to forgive if you feel you may have wronged someone seek forgiveness. Sometimes simply writing a letter of forgiveness and sealing it in an envelope can be very liberating. In many cases writing a letter seeking forgiveness can be liberating. Be prepared when you forgive or seek forgiveness for your life to change because when you ask for forgiveness the other people must take a look at the role they played in everything and sometimes they are not ready to be accountable. Many times we get caught up in the blame game and this hinders our ability to grow spiritually so stop blaming others and look at the role you played and move on by using a new F Word, forgiveness.
Another F Word that I have come to incorporate into my daily life while on my spiritual journey is flexibility. Over the last week my plans have been changed on several occasions. Like today I received a call from my doctor’s office to reschedule my appointment. In the past I would have been angry and looked at this rescheduling as an inconvenience but today I took it as a sign that GOD had better plans for me. I then went to do my laundry and when I finished went to Starbucks and there was no place to sit so I walked across to Walgreens and had my blood pressure checked. I then went back to Starbucks and there was a place to sit and plug in my lap top. I have come to understand that when you over plan you are bound to have what can be perceived as disappointment or you can be flexible and allow things to unfold as GOD had intended all along. The willingness to change plans and be flexible shows great personal, professional, and spiritual growth. Look at how you react to change and remember to adopt another F WORD, Flexibility.
Today’s blog post was inspired by the band One Direction and their song Forever Young. The song reminds us of our spirituality and how we all want to be forever young. As we continue on our path of spiritual awakening we can be forever young. The first step is to embrace that inner child that would get excitted when the icecream truck would come through the neighborhood and you had the $.50 to buy a treat. When we allow our inner child to play we set out vibrations that create a larger spiritual awakening as we begin to attract those that will help us to flourish and thrive. I recently attended The Superstar Sumitt and was involved in a presentation and I did a roundoff. I took this action not thinking of what others would think. I was in the moment and felt liberated to just be me and not have to put on heirs to impress anyone as I realized I am enough. Through out the day I allowed my inner child to come out and overall it was a productive day. By being authentic and letting people see who you truly are a divine child of GOD with a purpose you will attract the people meant to be in your life. I have allowed my inner child to come out on many occassions and sometimes it hasn’t gone over to well as some people just don’t get it and probably never will. It is not our job to drag people kicking and screaming into a spiritual awakening it is our duty to shine our light to allow others to see. It is when we shine our light that we give others permission to shine their light.
