Spiritual Awakening: Stuart Scott Leaves a Spiritual Lesson!!!
As most of you who read this blog on a regular basis know I am a broadcaster and an avid sports enthusiast. One of my favorites was Stuart Scott who on January 4, 2015 was called home to GOD after battling cancer for the 3rd time. His speech at The 2014 ESPY Awards after receiving The Jim Valvano Perseverance Award was captivating and inspiring. How Stuart Scott battled with grace and dignity teaches us many spiritual lessons. Stuart’s love for his family and those he worked with and came in contact with taught is all that love is a great power to share. Stuart was authentic and this came across in all he did. I remember writing him an invite to come to The Relay For Life and receiving a gracious reply that he was unable to attend. Stuart taught the world to live life to the fullest and if you are over the top you may just impact lives in a positive manner. As I reflected on the life and times of Stuart Scott I realized that he had an amazing way of connecting with people. Though I never met Stuart Scott I feel like he was part of my life as I studied him and have emulated his professionalism. Stuart taught us to take action and to go after our dreams while being our authentic self. As we honor Stuart let us look at those who have made a positive impact on our lives and honor them as well. Let us take the final words of his ESPY Speech and live life full out.
Stuart Scott is now an angel watching over us. He showed us the importance of love, compassion, drive, and enthusiasm. He showed us all how important it is to always do your best. Stuart Scott was more than just an award winner and a broadcaster he was a man with conviction and compassion. If we could all be half as good as Stuart Scott was we can make our world a better place. Stuart Scott answered a calling and helped us all to come alive and reminded us all just how important it is to be of service and value. Far beyond the face on a TV Screen Stuart Scott was a man who will always be remembered for his impact not only in The Sports Broadcasting Industry but on our society. Stuart Scott took up MMA Fighting as a way to train and thus make the mind, body, soul connection. While many would have thrown in the towel Stuart gave cancer a big Booyah and now he has found the cool side of the pillow. Stuart Scott taught us to battle and to never give up. Today I realize that perhaps GOD needed him more in heaven than we needed him on earth. His legacy is one of strength, inspiration, dreams, and hope. Stuart’s commitment to helping other people excel was seen in all he did from mentoring young journalists to supporting aspiring broadcasters. Stuart Scott may be gone from this earth but he is not forgotten.
Spiritual Awakening: Building The Motivational Pyramid!!!
In school we all took that required psychology class and what was the one thing that we all remember? Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs. Many of us get as high as Esteem Needs and stop never having the spiritual awakening to become self-actualized. To do this we must go deep inside and find our true calling and purpose. We must tap into the creative being that lives inside of us and begin to understand that we are divine children of GOD and his plan is bigger that we can imagine. In an effort to build the motivational pyramid we must become action takers by understanding the messages that are being given to us.
Spiritual Awakening: The Motivational Pyramid Blueprint!!!!
When building anything you need a blueprint so that you can see what the finished product will look like. The same goes with the spiritual awakening plan as you begin to build your motivational pyramid.
The first level is self motivation for you are the only one that can create what you desire. Start by stating I am motivated to______________________________. I have the power to create. I will move positive in the direction of my desire. Make a list of what motivates you and then create the goals that are realistic and attainable and post them where you can see them. A great tool is to laminate a business card with your daily, weekly, and monthly goals with your action steps so that you can carry them with you to keep you self motivated. There will be set backs, however for every set back there is progress to be made. A great way to keep motivated is to keep doing positive things for yourself and being grateful for the positive things. Sometimes all it takes to be self motivated is to change the words we use from I have to or I need to I get to. This small shift changes the way you look at things and creates a positive vibration and a good feeling that you strive to repeat.
Spiritual Awakening: Finding A Fountain Of Inspiration
As I was deciding on what to blog about today to help those on their spiritual path to enhance their personal and professional lives I jumped on YouTube and I found this fountain of inspiration. As I began to drink from this fountain I began to think about all those who inspire others and how they are adding to the fountain of inspiration.
In this fountain of inspiration I found this video and the affirmations. I then remembered the scene in Dead Poet’s Society, where Robin Williams Character, Mr.Keating, reminds us to Carpe Diem ( Seize The Day).
You have the opportunity to seize the day and drink from your own fountain of inspiration.As you become inspired and you awaken and accept that you are destined for greatness you will begin to see changes in your personal and professional life and your light will shine brightly on others.
Spiritual Awakening: Arnel Pineda And Other Inspirational Lessons
I chose to highlight Arnel Pineda today as he shows us all the power of spirituality and using our talents to improve our life and the lives of others. When you read Arnel’s full biography at wikipedia you learn of the hardships he faced and how he never lost faith and kept doing what he loved to do. Being passionate and taking action will often lead to success. I found hos story to be inspirational and it is my hope that when things are challenging on your spiritual path that you will take his story and others shared here to help you face these challenges and continue on your path.
The lead voice in this song is that of Arnel Pineda, a young Filipino who was discovered on YOUTUBE by the lead guitarist of Journey. This is a snipet of Arnel’s story. Videos of The Zoo performing cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins, Stryper and other popular acts from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, began appearing on YouTube.com in February 2007. On June 28, 2007,[8]Neal Schon of Journey contacted Noel Gomez, a longtime fan and friend of Pineda who uploaded many of these videos, to ask for Pineda’s contact information. Schon sent an e-mail to Pineda inviting him to audition for Journey. Pineda initially dismissed the e-mail as a hoax, but after being persuaded by Gomez, he finally replied to Schon’s e-mail. Ten minutes later, Pineda received a phone call from Schon.[9] On August 12,[10] Pineda, along with his manager Bert de Leon, flew to Marin County, just north of San Francisco, for a two-day audition.[11][12] The star-struck Pineda was welcomed warmly but he described the audition as “nerve-wracking, tense”.[13] On December 5, 2007, Pineda was announced as the lead singer of Journey. CNN Headline News ran the story as part of their “News to Me” segment.[14]
How many times have you wanted to go for it and the voice in your head talks you out of it or a family member or friend puts down the idea and you foolishy listen to their input? This used to happen to me many times until the day I decided it doesn’t matter what others think what matters is that I believe in what I am doing and I will find a way to make it work. I am reminded of the one legged wrestler, Anthony Robles who won The NCAA Wrestling Tournament at his weight class last year as he didn’t let people hold him back he went for it and he won.
Anthony Robles serves as an example to all us that lifes great treasure lies in human personality.
