Spiritual Awakening: Hey I Am Worth It!!!!

I decided to use Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs to illustrate that you deserve great things and that you are worth it. How many times have you offered a great service for what you believe to be a reasonable price and been asked why should I pay that? I always answer because I am worth it. Being a spiritual entrepreneur does not mean giving your talents away it means being of service and value and getting a reasonable exchange for your services and products. When you begin to tell yourself I am worth it you will begin to get paid what you value yourself at. I have learned in the last 2 years that if you do not put a high value on yourself and your talents noone else will. This was illustrated a few weeks ago when I was approached to do a voice over for a video and offered to do it for $100 and was told that they would find someone on fiverr, to which I replied go ahead, well guess what the video isn’t done and they are still searching for that inexpensive voice, when they could have had one of the best. The lesson I learned is stick to your guns as word will get out that you value yourself and you are worth it.

 Babe Ruth was someone who understood his value as illustrated by hisanswer when asked why he shoud be making more money than the president? His answer because I had a better year than he did.  Babe Ruth knew he was worth it.

       When you think of the word Community what does it mean? Think of that for a second. Got it? Hold that thought until the end. In 2012 we are evolving the meaning of Community with social media. Let’s break it down, Community can be defined as a group of people living or interacting in the same  space, and a society that helps each other. In the past, your  interaction with your community ended when you were no longer physically in the same place. Now, thanks to the glories of the interwebs, we  bring our community home and further expand our network beyond the  physical. Indeed, most people find it odd for someone not to have a Facebook account. A normal person functioning in society is believed to be someone that  is engaged in his/her community. Facebook is now part of life and if  you’re not on it then you’re considered to be isolating yourself from  your community. In social media we are interacting and helping each other, whether it is to make a professional connection, find old friends or make new ones, we are expanding our life experience day-in and day-out. The internet is a known space where interactions happen. Think about the last time you were  considering who you should donate to and you saw something come up on a  social media platform posted by a friend. At that moment you experienced a moment of clarity, “OMG, I have to help my friend!” Yes– O-M-G. Not only have we expanded our communities but we have evolved our language as well. ROFL, TTYL and LMAO had no meaning 15 years ago and now you know exactly what they mean and people even use them in verbal communication. What does community mean to me? It means being connected and in 2012, social media is part of how we make that connection. Now you can let go of  that thought you had in the beginning. Share in the comments! Spiritual Awakening: Wake Up and Be Who You Are

I was having a conversation with Debbie Ford on her radio show on Wednesday when she mentioned that there is a time to be phony like when she is at a book signing and feeling tired and has to put on the smile and sign more books and take pictures. She also mentioned about going to someone who may be sick and telling them they look okay. I felt like yelling Debbie Wake Up and Be Who You Are.  Many times as we are on our path we may find ourself being “PHONY” which at times does serve us, however I find it is best when you are authentic and truthful. If you are truly going to be awakened you have to be true to yourself and others. In many cases you see a need to act a certain way to placate the situation.  If you do not derive pleasure from the experience of signing books and can not be enthusastic without having to fake it then you need to change what you are doing. I know that it can be draining to take pictures, sign books, and go to many dinners, however that is what you chose. I ask did you chose this to make money or did you chose this because you truly believe in what you are preaching.

Spiritual Awakening: Put Your Love Glasses On!!!!

 

I have often said it is when we look at the world with love and put our love glasses on that great things happen. What are you doing to put your love glasses on? I have this ritual in the morning where I look in the mirror and I say  I love me  and today I will show love to others. Sometimes it is difficult as people come into my life through the day that can be challenging, it is at those times when I take a deep breath and do my best to be loving.

I listen to Janet Lee Kraft’s  Love is The Highest Way and I am reminded that we should be loving and caring in all that we do. As you shift to love many great things begin to unwind and you begin to see things in a different light. The light of love begins to open more doors and create a better life. There are many ways to spread love.

Spiritual Awakening:Oscar Pistorious, Gabby Douglas Inspiring The World

 

Oscar Pistorius became the first amputee track athlete to compete in the Olympics &  he advanced to the 400-meter semifinals after finishing second in his heat. His triumphant story continues to inspire the world. He was treated like a child with 2 legs growing up his mother would tell his brother put on your sneakers and Osccar put on your legs and if your brother climbs a tree you climb the tree. I have found Oscar’s story to be one of inspiration showing people that regardless of obstacles you can overcome and achieve greatness.

How many times have you been told you can not do something or have you allowed your negative self talk to get in the way? For Oscar Pistorious his taking of action and training to become a top athlete despite the obstacle of  being a double amputee holds a message of hope and achieveent for all as we continue to step into our greatness. Their is something very spiritual about watching this man compete as you can feel the energy  he brings to life come through the TV. The positive vibes that he gives off enhances all those who watch. So the next time you think you can not do something think of Oscar and all he has overcome and go for it.

            Gabby Douglas’s journey to the Team Gymnastics Gold and The Olympic All Around Gold was paved with much sacrifice as she moved from her mother’s home across country to DesMoines, Iowa to train. Her mother a single mom made many sacrifices so Gabby could train  to become an Olympian. Her older sister encouraged her not to quit the sport when she wanted to walk away. Gabby stuck with it and in London performed exquistely to capture 2 gold medals.  Gabby’s comments after winning The Women’s All Around only solidifies the idea that we are guided by a higher being. What is your higher calling and what sacrifices will you make to be a shining light of hope to others.

Spiritual Awakening: Finding Your I AM

Spiderman had Peter Parker, Batman had Bruce Wayne, and Superman had Clark Kent. Each character  illustrates a transformation from who they were perceived to be to who they could become. How do you use your alter ego to transform yourself and create the spiritual well being that you seek. At times we may become conflicted because of our alter ego or the duality we feel we must face as we are affected by the thoughts  and beliefs of our childhood and the fear of being a bit different than what is perceived as normal.  We often ask ourselves what role must I play? How must I act in this situation because of fear.  many times we create an alter ego to compensate for  our short comings and we begin to discover who we truly are and we do some deep introspection and discover that we are who source desires us to be. We all play a role in this and despite our duality at times we become the shining lights of  hope for others.

Spiritual Awakening: Source Strikes Again

 I have stated many time that by being an action taken and fololwing your anthem that you will have an awakening and see how source strikes again. This was evidenced this week as I attended a dinner at The Victory Christian Center in Boca Raton as part of The Celebrate Recovery Program. I was invited by my friend Dale, who I had seen in a while and it was time to catch up and share as we both had just experienced the passing of  someone close, for me it was my mother for her her brother. She had told me I was covered, meaning that my meal was free, however when I arrived I took $3 and put it into the donation basket. The evening ended and I didn’t even think about the $3 I donated until yesterday (7/26/12) as I was leaving a client and had just received my check for services rendered when her husband handed me $30. I started to remember the passages that speak about when you give it is returned ten fold. This is what inspired this post Source Strikes Again. I invite you to share your stories of how source is working and striking in a positive manner in your life.

 Spiritual Awakening: How To Connect With Source?

Many times we are destined for a calling that source has given us all the tools to pursue and bring to fruition, however we may not be connected or open to receive at that time  and as a result we put up road blocks instead of making the connection with source. Some may call it the God Connection, The Jesus Connection, The Source Connection, The Buddha Connection, or something else. The key is that you tap into this amazing power that is inside of you that the world is in desire of. The question now is How To Connect With Source? There are many ways.

Spiritual Awakening: Reaching Out and Impacting Lives

When I think of celebrities making an impact I think of Bono from U2. I then start to think we can all be like Bono in our own right be it sharing our knowledge with others  or simply sharing a smile or a kind word.

 Bono of U2 delivers a message of hope in the song Beautiful Day. It is when we wake up that we have a choice to make it a beautiful day despite the weather and any trials and tribulations that we may have. By making a conscious decision to reach out and positively impact the lives of others we are positively impacting our own lives.  Bob Burg speakes about being a go-giver is his book  The Go Giver and his book Go Givers Sell More.

    These two books can be great toolsto help you make a positive impact in the lives of others while improving your personal and professional life.

M.J. Ryan’s Book, The Giving Heart has many stories that will inspire you to be a giver and to help you see the value of helping others.

 In the late 1970’s Peter Frampton wrote this song and asked the question of Do You Feel Like I Do? Many times throughout the course of the day I am asked how do you feel? I often answer sacrasically with the answer with my hands. This usually gets  a quick chuckle.   I then continue and say well it all depends on what the subject is? For example today I feel like we live in a crazy mixed up world as I read about the shooting in Colorado and then I read about the way people in the community of Delray Beach, FL and the surrounding areas are coming together

Spiritual Awakening: Shine Your Light

Inside of each of us is a bright light to be shared with the world so as to show others our greatness and to exhibit grace for others to follow. I often ask people the question How Bright Is Your Light?  I ask this question to delve deep into the fact that they have a gift and a talent to give to the world so as to enhance the lives of others while enhancing their own personal and professional light.  Many people have a light that is waiting to be turned on and shared and all they need is a bit of encouragement from those arround them.

Neil Diamond delivers a message to turn on your heart light and to let it shine for everyone to see.  It is your time to shine and let the world see just how great you are.  You have the power inside of you to be a shining light to those you come in contact with. How Bright Is Your Light? is a question to answer by seeing the impact you are making on the lives of others.
