Spiritual Awakening:Become The Difference Maker!!!

 

In the spiritual awakening process it is important to become an action taker with the intent of making a positive difference in your life and in the lives of others. As you walk your spiritual path there will be challenges as what  you are compelled to do do as directed by GOD may not resonate with others and what they want to do. Recently I had a situation where I thought something was left to me and another person thought it was left to them. In thinking the item was left to me I had plans to get the item appraised and then find a buyer the other person who thought it was left to them didn’t want to part with the item.  My plan was sell the item and donate 20% to The American Cancer Society Relay For Life and then split the remainder with the other person. In wanting to avoid conflict I simply gave up what I perceived as ownership of said item and realized that it wasn’t meant for me to have and that other opportunities would present itself and allow me to be a difference maker. In letting go and letting GOD and  accepting that which I wasn’t going to change I cleared some blockages and found other ways to support The American Cancer Society Relay For Life and myself. I realized that I could still be a difference maker without the item. It was in detaching from the what might of been or could of been that I was able to let go and move forward understanding that GOD had other plans for me to be a difference maker.

It is when you commit to being a difference maker by making compassion and kindness a regular part of your day that you will become more and more spiritually aware and awake. As you set about each day with the intention of spreading peace, love, joy, and prosperity everywhere you go you will find it easier to become a difference maker. I am reminded of what mother Teressa once said “If you can not do great things do small things with great love so make a commitment to be loving and caring in all you do and become a difference maker.

Spiritual Awakening:Dominate The Day With Glory!!!

As I was doing outreach yesterday(8/22/2017) for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Sunrise I ran into someone who simply wasn’t resonating with me. I simply made a comment asking for assistance with a fundraiser I was doing and this person decided to get vulgar and start calling me names via Facebook. I reminded myself of all my spiritual teachings and took the high road wishing him much success in his efforts to sell his items. When I finished my response I realized again that not everyone is going to resonate with you and that many people are not ready for a spiritual awakening. In understanding this I decided that I was simply going to focus on all the nice people who have sent items for the fundraisers that I am hosting to benefit The American Cancer Society Relay For Life Of Sunrise. As I began to release all the negative energy that the person calling me names and using vulgar language I began to process the fact that I encountered a person who simply has not evolved spiritually for someone who is spiritually aware and awake comes from a position of love and kindness. As I sat in reflection I made the conscious decision to dominate the day with glory. I began to remind myself that if GOD brought me to it that GOD would bring me through it. I also reflected on the fact that GOD loves a Cheerful Giver so I looked up to GOD and I thanked him for giving me the talents to use to make a positive impact on the lives of those touched by cancer. I thanked him for the ability to use my talents for good and for putting more positive people on my path than negative people. Yes it was hurtful to be called names and to have vulgarities thrown my way but due to my spiritual awakening I was able to let it go and focus on the good I am doing. I then thanked JESUS for showing me the way to glorify him and to be of service and value to others. After all it did turn out to be a glorious day.

Spiritual Awakening: A Recipe For Hope And Healing!!!

As you begin to awaken spiritually you will need to have a recipe for hope and healing. The first ingredient should be love. As you begin to take action toward embracing the spiritual awakening process remember that if you can not do great things to do small things with great love. When you awaken every morning put a little love in your heart and become a lifter bringing love and compassion into all that you do.
As you put love into your heart and you give out love and kindness you will begin to receive more love and kindness. Add some kindness to your recipe by find ways to lift others up. Sometimes it is as easy as holding the door open for someone or smiling at someone or leaving your change in a tip jar on making a small donation to a charity. It is important to remember that kindness counts.

Spiritual Awakening: Light A Candle Of Hope!!!

As I was preparing to leave my condo today to go out an take action to spread a message of hope and healing I reached into my cash box for a $50 gas card and while doing so I knocked over and broke The American Cancer Society Hope Award that I received in 2008 as part of my involvement with Relay For Life. As I picked up the pieces and put them in the garbage I realized that it was no the award that was important but what it represented. The award represented me becoming a beacon of hope for those touched by cancer. As I placed the pieces of the award into the garbage I also realized that this was a message to stop living in the past and to pick up the pieces of my life and light the flame inside of me that will become a candle of hope. In becoming an action taker and becoming more aware and awake I have come to understand that there are messages that come to us daily. It is up to us to take these messages and light a candle of hope that will encourage others to do the same thus illuminating the world. As I took the broken pieces of The Hope Award and placed them in the back I thought about how important it is to throw the pieces of my life that are no longer serving me away and to simply face everything and rise. As I though more and more about the award I realized that it is not about the award at all it is about the journey and the positive impact made along the way.  It is when we light our candle that we encourage others to do the same and as a result we begin to attract peace, love, joy, and prosperity into our lives. In taking a deep breath and understanding that everything happens for a reason we can add value to our life so that we can be of service to others. It is when we light candles of hope and understand that we have the ability to help other people excel be it with a word of encouragement or designing an action plan with them. Sometimes it is as simple as being a candle in the wind.

On of the people I admired over the years was Lady Diana who showed the world that regardless of our status in life we can make a difference in the world. When Lady Diana passed on August 31, 1997  I remember hearing this song and realizing that it was time to rekindle a spark inside of me that desired to show the world that service to humanity was the best work of life. Over the years I have had many opportunities to be a candle of hope by being of service and value to the communities where I have lived, worked, and played. In understanding that I have an opportunity to be a candle of hope on a daily basis by simply being positive and encouraging I am able to attract light into my life that allows me to move forward in a positive direction of my goals. Take a moment to be a candle in the wind and inspire others to become action takers so that they can enhance their lives and the lives of others. Shine your light bright for the world to see.

Spiritual Awakening: Open Your Eyes!!!

As you begin to awaken inside it is important to open your eyes and look at all the beauty and opportunity that surrounds you. As you open your eyes and put judgement and attachment aside you will see that you are able to take action and thus move things forward in a positive direction of your dreams. In the awakening process it is important to let go and let GOD as GOD will open your eyes and put opportunities in front of you where you can be of value and service while prospering yourself and others. I have heard many people say how hard it is to find work and my answer is always that there is plenty of opportunity you just have to open your eyes and be ready ready to receive. Such was the case the other day as I was out collecting donations for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life as Rainbow had a help wanted sign in their window so I inquired and filled out the job application and guess what I start a part time on Monday (3/20/2017), which fits perfectly into my schedule. The idea is to open your eyes and be more aware and awake and prepared to take action.

In opening my eyes and taking action I have been able to secure some chance drawing items for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Sunrise, which will take place on May 5, 2017 at Piper High School from 6 PM – 12 AM (Midnight). I recently saw a post from a company, Sam Bat, a company that makes custom made baseball bats I wrote a comment asking them if they could donate a bat and they sent a bat that says Strike Out Cancer May 5, 2017. In opening my eyes and being awake and taking action I was able to secure this chance drawing item. I also was able to secure the assistance of my cousin who is a Scentsy Rep as she had posted on Facebook about her fundraising opportunity where she will donate 25% of all sales util April 28 to Relay For Life. Spiritual Awakening: Unleash Your Inner Superhero!!!

As I picked out the superhero to represent for The 2017 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Sunrise/Tamarac due to the theme being Superheroes For The Cure I began to think that each of us has a superhero inside of us to unleash. The inner superhero is usually the one that allows you to tap into your divinity thus allowing you to become an action taker and improve your life and the lives of others. It is when you realize that you have this great power inside of you that you begin to take the steps necessary to enhance your personal, professional, and spiritual life. In improving your personal, professional, and spiritual life you shine a bright light which allows others to find their inner superhero and as a result you begin to change not only your life but the lives of others. So many times people will tell us that it can’t be done or that we are not good enough. When you encounter these people it is important to simply walk away and then tap into your inner superhero and follow your heart as after all what the mind can conceive and the heart can believe you can achieve.

When I was growing up there was a very popular TV Show, The Greatest American Hero. In the Show Ralph would put on his special suit and be able to help make the world a better place. The good thing about being awakened spirituality is that you do not need a special suit to make a positive impact in the world all you have to do is tap into your inner divinity and do small things with great love thus creating a ripple effect where kindness will beget kindness. The superhero you have inside of you is calling to be let out for the world to see that you are committed to being of service and value to others by taking action to make a positive impact in the world. When you unleash your inner superhero ad spread peace, love, joy, and prosperity these things will come back you. It is when you find your purpose and answer the calling that you become a superhero.  In unleashing your inner superhero you will encounter doubters and naysayers. When you do simple choose to simply ignore the negative and move on in a forward direction of your dreams. As y0u unleash your inner superhero you will find that you are attracting more lifters and supporters and that the universe is conspiring to help you manifest the life you desire.

Spiritual Awakening: Answered Prayers!!!

Each morning when I awake I thank GOD for another day to be of service and value. I ask GOD to make me an action taker and to give me the strength, courage, and enthusiasm to be a difference maker. As I go about my gratitude rituals such as writing in my gratitude journal I thank GOD for the prayers he has answered. Today I thank GOD for putting people in my life who are supporting my efforts to use my talents for good. I asked GOD to help me and guide me with my efforts to plant the seeds of hope and healing for cancer patients, their families, and their friends through my involvement with Relay For Life. GOD answered and gave me the tools to ask people to visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg18 and make donations. In following his directions I have now raised $774 toward a goal of $2500 and I continue to let things go and let GOD. As a result my prayers are being answered.

In is when we put our trust in GOD that our prayers are answered. It is when we take action with the intention of glorifying GOD that we are rewarded with amazing results. GOD answers your prayers when he sees that you are using your talents for good. It is when you lift others up to GOD that you are lifted. may times GOD answers prayers in a very unique way. Such was the case when I wrote a message to Sam Bat, a company that makes customized baseball bats, asking them to support Relay For Life. After I wrote the message I prayed to GOD to bring this donation to fruition. On Saturday January 21 there was a knock on the door and a package was delivered for Relay For Life. It was a custom made maple bat from Sam Bat with the words Strike Out Cancer and May 5, 2017( The date of The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Sunrise).  This will be used in the fundraising efforts as a tool to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.  This is one of the many prayers that have been answered simply by letting go and letting GOD.

Spiritual Awakening: Break Down The Wall!!!

Break Down the Wall - Digital Echo VideoAs you go through the spiritual awakening process you will find it necessary to break down the walls that are holding you back and simply follow your heart understanding your mind will follow and GOD will sort everything out. It is when we break down the walls of fear and uncertainty that we are able to take action and start moving in the positive direction of our goals and dreams. Today is a great example of breaking down walls for as it is The $1 Million in One Day Challenge for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. I stopped by Marathon Gas to pick up a canister I had left to find out it had been stolen. The cashier told me oh when I left here last night it was here and it had money in it someone must have taken it. In the past I would have been angry but today I took a deep breath taking solace that whatever money was in the canister would be made up for as people would heed my call to donate. I was correct as I shared the donation page http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg4 on Facebook and 2 people donated bringing my total now to $1603.05 toward a goal of $2500. In breaking down the wall of anger and turning into compassion I was able to focus on the good that will come from the theft of the canister and  that is more people will see my post and support the effort to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. As I took action and made a commitment to live the day by the anthem of stay positive I was able to break down walls of anger and fear and instead seek peace, joy, love, and prosperity. As I was posting the messages asking for donations some people decided to challenge my motives questioning how much The CEO and Staff Members on The American Cancer Society get paid. Instead of being flippant and obnoxious I simply used my knowledge gained over the last 17 years and showed people where the money goes. I have come to understand that in being passionate about a cause that nit everyone will share your passion or even like what you are doing and instead of building up what they are doing they will look to tear you down. This used to really piss me off but know I take it stride and I break down the walls of resistance by remembering that facts tell and stories sell and that not everyone will resonate with my message, however GOD will bring those that share my vision and thus we will break down the wall of resistance and excel.  I have come to understand that if GOD brought me to it GOD will bring me through it and GOD will provide the support desired to break down the walls, overcome the challenges, and face everything and rise.

Spiritual Awakening: Disappointment Turns To Enlightenment!!!

As the regular readers of this blog know I am very dedicated to helping those touched by cancer through my involvement with Relay For Life. Over the years I have emceed many Relays. This year as The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Boca Raton approached I reached out to The People Lead about being the emcee and was told they had that covered. The day of The Relay arrived and I went to Relay and when asked about doing  announcements was told only the staff partner and The People Lead would be making announcements. I was a bit surprised as well as disappointed as I have been the voice of this Relay for the previous 12 years. I understand that people want to change it up and you want to give  other people a chance, however when you have one of the best at their craft who is passionate about the cause and has raised the kind of money I have raised you find a way to include me. I was very angry and I expressed this to the people lead who was so caught up in her title and having power she didn’t even engage with me. Her answer was people don’t want all that talking they just want to enjoy the event.  After my initial anger and disappointment subsided I had the opportunity to sit quietly and reflect and then I realized that not everyone will appreciate your talents and there will be those that are intimidated because while many talk I do.  I then thought that it doesn’t matter if I emcee or not that I am there to honor my mom, Judith Miller, who was called home to GOD on July 5, 2012 after suffering a massive heart attack while battling non-operable metastatic lung cancer and even though I know I could have  engaged the audience and brought excitement to the event emceeing or even making announcements was not what GOD had in mind for me to do that night.

As I walked the Luminaria lap I had an aha moment which put things into perspective. I received a message from source, I believe it was from my mother telling me that sometimes working quietly behind the scenes serves the great purpose. I am working on releasing my disappointment of not being the emcee as well as not being asked to be part of the committee. This could also be a Message from GOD that he has something much bigger in store for me. The enlightening moment occurred earlier today when I realized that at the end of the day all that matters is  that I was impeccable with my word, didn’t take anything personally, didn’t judge, and always did my best. I also realized that as long as I go where I am honored and respected and not just tolerated that everything will be okay.  I also have come to understand that not everyone will understand my level of commitment and my ways of doing anything. I also learned that instead of dwelling on the disappointment look at the good that came from me not being the emcee like being able to do an oracle card reading and put someone at ease and collect $20 for the cause for doing this, to be able to man a booth and receive donations for The SUJA Juice I had donated, and to have the ability to see Relay For Life from a different perspective.

Spiritual Awakening: Finding The Sunny Side!!!

 

As we experience spiritual awakenings we will encounter darkness and light. When we encounter darkness it is important to take action and find the sunny side. As I continue to do my fundraising for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Boca Raton, http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg4, I encounter many people who for one reason or another find it necessary to condemn my actions and who are not open to listening to the reason behind why and what I am doing. Many times I get upset and this takes me to a dark place filled with anger because as much as I do my best to detach from the negativity there are times that my human side interferes with my spiritual side. In the last few weeks I have encountered some people who are so filled with themselves and a desire to be right that I found myself wanting to just punch them in the throat then I realized that this emotion did not serve me well and it was like wrestling a pig in the mud where you both get dirty but the pig enjoys it. As I looked back on my reactions and began to let go I felt relieved and began to focus on all those who were receptive to my work to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. It was when I began to look at the positive that I found many people who shared my posts and my entire outlook changed as I realized that you can find a sunny side in every situation.

Such was the case just now as I am sitting in Panera Bread working on this blog entry after a not so pleasant encounter while out collecting donations for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Boca Raton. As I was writing I received a Direct Message on Facebook from someone who promised me a donation and she wrote done. I checked my donation page and saw that her donation now puts me at $834.83 raised. She even went as far as sharing the donation page with others. This not only put a smile on my face but t also put a warmth in my heart and put me in a place of light as opposed to darkness. It is amazing what happens when you look for the sunny side in life.
