As the time ticked down to zero last night (6/8/13) and The Miami Fury Women’s Tackle Football Team finished their season undefeated one thought came into my mind Celebrate Life! Celebrate the fact that you were part of something special as the pubic address announcer. As I awoke this morning (6/9/13) I looked out the window and saw it was a nice sun shining day in Sunrise, FL again my thought was to celebrate life. As I was thinking about what to write to help those who have had a spiritual awakening and to assist those who are seeking a spiritual awakening message from source was clear to write about celebrating life.
Thin Lizzy’s song Dancing In The Moonlight is a great lesson to sometimes break the rules & dance in the moonlight. By being an action taker and puuting yourself on a spiritual path you are going against the norms of society to allow the moonlight to shine on you and give you the energy to being a shining light to others. Think about ways you are breaking the boundries that may have held you back in the past and how going against expectations and being your authentic self is creating a more joyous experience in all you do. When you make that decision to dance in the moonlight their will be pain as some may not understand what you are seeking or why you are doing what you do. The best you can do is leave those people behind. It is a difficult decision because your initial feeling may be I have so much invested in this friendship or relationship, howver it is when you detach yourself and make the conscience decision to move on and pursue your moonlight that you will find the greatness inside of you that the world will see.
Last night (6/3//12) I had the opportunity to witness as the emcee for this event people who decided to dance in the moonlight. The performers were amazing and inspirational. I was able to feel the positive energy in the room and be inspired by the Cancer Survivors. It was amazing to see people come together and work as one so as to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. I would like to ask everyone to take a moment and dance in the moonlight while visiting http://main.acsevents.org/goto/acbd so as to help those affected by cancer dance in the moonlight.
Spiritual Awakening: Making Lemonade Out Of Lemons
We have all heard the saying making lemonade out of lemons. This practice takes a great deal of shifting our thoughts and action steps to find the positive in all situations. I remember receiving the phone call of Friday April 3, 2009 where my mom informed me of her diagnosis with non-operable metastatic lung cancer. I am very fortunate to have been a volunteer with The American Cancer Society and knew that her journey through this would be tough, however there were many programs available to help her. The first thing I did was give her this number 1-800-acs-2345 as this is a manned 24 hour a day 7 day a week hotline manned by The American Cancer Society. The East Boca Raton Relay was coming up and I know knew what I was going to speak about during luminaria, I would tell the story of how my mom was making lemonade out of a lemon known as cancer. My mom underwent many treatments at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. When she returned to Florida she had lost her hair and released alot of weight. It was difficult to see her like this, however as the weeks went by she got stronger and our bond strengthened. She was cancer free for 2 1/2 years and then the cancer returned. She would travel to MD Anderson again and this lemon known as cancer would be squeezed and she is now doing better. She has her good days and some challenging days. My mom continues to take this lemon and make lemonade as she inspires me and others. I am honoring my mom by participating in The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of West Boca Raton on April 27-28. If you would like to help honor my mom and others touched by cancer please visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg8265 or click on the support the mission tab on this blog.
