Spiritual Awakening: The Spiritual Hall Of Fame!!!
As I watched the enshrinement into The NFL Hall Of Fame of Warren Sapp, Curley Culp, Cris Carter, Larry Allen, Bill Parcells, Dave Robinson, and Jonathan Ogden I began to see that each one of the inductees had a spiritual awakening of some sort that propelled them to greatness. As the ceremony ended I came up with the concept of The Spiritual Hall Of Fame.
The requirements to get into The Spiritual Hall Of Fame Would be very easy you would have had to have lived a spiritual life or currently living a spiritual life and being of service and value to others. You will be conducting or have conducted activities that positively impacted the lives of others. You will have been a published author.
Today’s entry was inspired by Earth Wind and Fire’s song Reasons that was first released in 1975. As I listened to the lyrics I began to think of the age old spiritual awakening question of Why Am I Here? I then remembered a saying about the two greatest days in a person’s life the day they are born and the day they discover why. In discovering why you are here you will begin to find what is bringing joy to your life and how you are bringing joy to other. One of the best ways to find the reason is to ask GOD and look for what he is putting in front of you and how you are excelling then continue to focus on that. I have discovered that my reason is to help other people excel as they continue on their path to spiritual awakening. I have found that by using my talents for good that my reason is confirmed each time I interact with others. The key is to find a reason and then discover how that reason is of value and service to others.
Spiritual Awakening: Tools to Help You Find The Reason!!!
I use songs like Cliff Nobles, The Horse, and Terry Jacks, Seasons in The Sun to get centered and grounded and then I ask my question as Why Am I Here Today? God What Direction Are You Pointing Me In Today? I then seek signs and act upon them and most of the time it comes to a joyous celebration of the day. When you put joy in your heart and share that joy with others you will find the reason that you are here.
This song Wildfire by Michael Martin Murphy is a great way to set the mood and remember that I am here to be of joy and to spread joy as I continue to help others on their path to a spiritual awakening.
Today’s entry was inspired by Frank Sinatra’s song I Did It My Way. As I listened to the lyrics I began to think of spiritual awakening and how each person comes to their own awakening in their own way. I have become an action taker as that is my way and I find that when I take action I feel better and enhance the mind, body, soul connection. We are all unique individuals with our own way of doing something. I believe that you can do what works for you as long as it doesn’t harm anyone. In finding our way we may turn to resources such as movies and books like The Peaceful Warrior that teaches that we can
win our internal battle by embracing our divinity:
By internalizing these quotes and taking action we can answer our calling and affect change in our lives and thus enhance the lives of others. It is when you come alive on the inside and embrace your divinity that you become your authentic self and find your purpose. In finding your purpose you can step into your power and being more comfortable in doing it your way.
Spiritual Awakening: Opening The Inspirational Funnel!!!
As I emceed The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Coral Springs I witnessed many opportunities that opened up the inspirational funnel. This particular moment was when Kids of Love honored Aaron who was celebrating his 6th birthday. Aaron is a cancer survivor and when he took the microphone and said “Hello, I love you,” to the crowd you could feel the inspiration that he exuded. Through out the night seeing his smile and all the survivors kept the participants inspired to keep walking as they celebrated those who have survived cancer, remembered those lost to cancer, and fought back by raising funds for research, education, advocacy, and services. As of Saturday morning over $129,000 was raised.
Through out Relay For Life there were many times that the inspirational funnel was opened. Just after The Luminaria Ceremony, where candles are lit in honor or memory of those affected by cancer a family arrived at Relay For Life. They were on the way back to their hotel to rest and make funeral arrangements as their mom had passed at 10:05 PM that evening. They saw The Relay as they were driving by and they stopped by to see if they could purchase a luminaria in their mom’s honor. The answer was don’t worry about a donation we will be happy to help you remember your mom. They were brought to the stage where DJ Willie told their story. They walked down the stairs and everyone that was at Relay joined in a lap with them. We stopped close to the start/finish line where I had everyone make a circle and I led a prayer for the family. The family thanked us and continued to walk for a while. I kept thinking if this doesn’t open up a funnel of motivation what do you need? At that point I walked over to the luminaria bag I had purchased, with the money collected at my pool area, to remember my mom and I sat on the track and realized my mom’s presence and a sense of pride for doing what I was doing while motivating others to take action to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
One of my favorite musicals is Man Of LaMancha. One of my favorite songs is The Impossible Dream. Each time I hear the song I am rejuvenated to continue on my quest to explore my spiritual awakening. I also ask others the question, What Is Your Quest? The reason I ask this question is that I am committed to being a lifter and supporting others in their quest to find their purpose and fufill their spiritual calling. When we begin to explore our dreams and align them with our calling we are then able to move forward in a positive direction towards our dreams. It is through defining our quest and letting it be known that we bring it to fruition. Taking action along the way leads to our continued success along our path of spiritual awakening. There will be those that doubt and laugh to them say thank you and move on with your quest and find those that will be supportive. Sometimes we must be like Don Quixote and fight our own windmills.
Don Quixote had his doubters but hs loyal friend Sancho was willing to support him. This gave Don Quixote the fuel to go forward on his quest. He toook ownership of his quest. His lesson to us is to never give in to the doubters and to find supporters of our quest. It is when we can move past the doubt that we will truly prosper and enhance our personal and professional lives. Who is the Sancho in your quest?
Monty Python puts a unique spin on the idea of What is Your Quest. It teaches us that sometimes we may have the answers and sometimes we must turn the tables on those that are asking the questions. In defining our quest and following our path we must prepare for detours and overcome them accordingly.
Spiritual Awakening: Tools To Help You On Your Quest!!!
Music such as this from the Indian Rock Opera, Airo, increase your vibrations and serves as a tool to keep you on your path during your quest. Music is a great tool to help you as you move forward on your journey to spiritual awakening.
This is another from Airo’N Brule that will help you to saty on frequency and vibrate with others who share your vision and will support what you quest.
This song is from The Movie Vision Quest and reminds us that it is what is in our heart that never changes. Our quest is in our heart and knowing this will serve as a tool to assist you in your quest. IT is when we follow what is in our heart that we have the best results.
Books such as these can aid you in your journey to further your spiritual awakening and help you to complete your quest.
Quotes such as these can be a great inspiration to continue your quest. There will be times you want to quit those are the times to reach down inside yourself and continue. Sometimes it is in pushing further on your quest that you find your purpose and thus understanding that yiur life has meaning.
As you define what your quest is remember that by shining your light on others you give permission to others to shine their light. As you continue your quest know that you are destined for greatness. By following your quest and embracing your greatness you will make a difference in your life and in the lives of others.
I chose to close with this song as it reinforces the idea that you can be great and what the mind can conceive and the heart can beleive you can achieve. Continue on your quest and be the hero in your story as you make your own hall of fame.It is when you follow your passion and take action that you find success and then the world will know your name. Until Next Time Stay Positive!!!
As I sat down to write this blog entry today I reflected back on the last entry about shifting and how it affects us as we continue to develop our spirituality through our spiritual awakening. I then began to look at where I was and what I was doing and realized how many people were doing the same thing and what could I do to help them find the positive. I then started to reflect on the events of Friday january 25, 2013 and realized that the reason I was having dificulty in obtaining donations for The American Cancer Society is that I was putting the wrong energy out into the universe for it was not my place to point out to the gentleman at Dominick’s Pizza that he needs to understand that everyoen walking into his extablishment is a potential customerand that if he chooses to act the way he did then all I have to do is breathe and walk away. By understanding this I began to let go of the negative encounters and began to celebrate and remember the good encounters like the ladies at Today’s Hair and Nails for their warmth and support or Jason at Lindburgers who was open and receptive to the idea of helping with Relay for Life. I then realized instead of being disappointed with the Facebook Friends who I know personally who haven’t donated to be grateful and continue to thank those who did donate. As I further reflected I realized that it is the vibration that we give off on many ocaasions that we attract back to us. If we are disappointed more disappointment will be throust in our direction, however if we are grateful more will be given to us to be grateful for. I now look at all those no’s as getting closer to someone who will say yes and who will resonate with my message and want to support my efforts.
I am often asked JDOGG when did you realize that spirituality meant stepping into your power. My answer is I have been steeping into my power and honing my spirituality all my life. Some examples include:
. Being on The Skipper Chuck Show after I used my power to raise funds for The Muscular Dystrophy Association
. Winning The John H. Armbruster Award from The U.S. Jaycees as a Top 5 Jaycee in America as a result of stepping into my power to serve as a living example of Jaycees Creed
. Receiving The 2008 Hope Award from The South Palm Beach Unit of The American Cancer Society for my powerful dedication to their mission
. Having Governor Jeb Bush Honor me as a Point Of Light Award Recipient for my dedication to community service.
