Spiritual Awakening: Expand Through Community Service

As I embarked on a new project, Forest of Angels, which is a program where businesses and organizations sponsor and decorate Christmas Trees and select a charity to represent and compete for the title of Best Decorated Tree I began to think how great it is to expand personally and professionally through community service. The actual event will take place at The Westfield Broward Mall in Plantation, FL from November 17 – December 24.

As  I began to make calls to find sponsors for the trees I felt an energy expand and come over me that created a joy that then enabled me to continue my expansion. As I presented the project and began to state that the tree sponsorships are $1,250.00 I began to get more comfortable. I then realized that the more you give the more you get. It is when you take action and become awake and aware that you begin to expand and grow.

         

In working with charitable causes I have found that making the mind, body, soul connection becomes easier as you truly feel the passion for what you are doing and you begin to realize that what the mind can conceive and the hert can believe you can achieve. As you begin to see the joy you are bringing to the world by being involved in your community you begin to open up channels to receive and your life seems to be flowing better.   I ask what are you passionate about and how can you bring that passion to a community service project.

Spiritual Awakening: What Are You Applauding and Celebrating?

 Kool and The Gang encourages us to celebrate.

I often comment on posts that I applaud and celebrate you and it makes me feel good and helps me to continue to stay centered and grounded. When I see people doing great things to help other I get motivated to continue to shine my light and celebrate the good things in my life. As I celebrate and applaud the good it opens up a realm of possibility that I may not have been aware of.

I am celebrating the opportunity to work with clients who should be applauded for their work as they impact the community that they serve. I applaud www.addictsmom.com, www.feelthehugs.com, and www.forestofangels.com for all they do to make a positive in the lives of others. I celebrate the chance to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays through my involvement with The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of West Boca Raton, schedule d for February 23-24, 2013. I celebrate the opportunity to share my knowledge with others about marketing and media relations.  I celebrate action takers who are making positive choices to improve their life and the lives of others. Spiritual Awakening: Hey I Am Worth It!!!!

I decided to use Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs to illustrate that you deserve great things and that you are worth it. How many times have you offered a great service for what you believe to be a reasonable price and been asked why should I pay that? I always answer because I am worth it. Being a spiritual entrepreneur does not mean giving your talents away it means being of service and value and getting a reasonable exchange for your services and products. When you begin to tell yourself I am worth it you will begin to get paid what you value yourself at. I have learned in the last 2 years that if you do not put a high value on yourself and your talents noone else will. This was illustrated a few weeks ago when I was approached to do a voice over for a video and offered to do it for $100 and was told that they would find someone on fiverr, to which I replied go ahead, well guess what the video isn’t done and they are still searching for that inexpensive voice, when they could have had one of the best. The lesson I learned is stick to your guns as word will get out that you value yourself and you are worth it.

 Babe Ruth was someone who understood his value as illustrated by hisanswer when asked why he shoud be making more money than the president? His answer because I had a better year than he did.  Babe Ruth knew he was worth it.

       When you think of the word Community what does it mean? Think of that for a second. Got it? Hold that thought until the end. In 2012 we are evolving the meaning of Community with social media. Let’s break it down, Community can be defined as a group of people living or interacting in the same  space, and a society that helps each other. In the past, your  interaction with your community ended when you were no longer physically in the same place. Now, thanks to the glories of the interwebs, we  bring our community home and further expand our network beyond the  physical. Indeed, most people find it odd for someone not to have a Facebook account. A normal person functioning in society is believed to be someone that  is engaged in his/her community. Facebook is now part of life and if  you’re not on it then you’re considered to be isolating yourself from  your community. In social media we are interacting and helping each other, whether it is to make a professional connection, find old friends or make new ones, we are expanding our life experience day-in and day-out. The internet is a known space where interactions happen. Think about the last time you were  considering who you should donate to and you saw something come up on a  social media platform posted by a friend. At that moment you experienced a moment of clarity, “OMG, I have to help my friend!” Yes– O-M-G. Not only have we expanded our communities but we have evolved our language as well. ROFL, TTYL and LMAO had no meaning 15 years ago and now you know exactly what they mean and people even use them in verbal communication. What does community mean to me? It means being connected and in 2012, social media is part of how we make that connection. Now you can let go of  that thought you had in the beginning. Share in the comments! Spiritual Awakening: Put Your Love Glasses On!!!!

 

I have often said it is when we look at the world with love and put our love glasses on that great things happen. What are you doing to put your love glasses on? I have this ritual in the morning where I look in the mirror and I say  I love me  and today I will show love to others. Sometimes it is difficult as people come into my life through the day that can be challenging, it is at those times when I take a deep breath and do my best to be loving.

I listen to Janet Lee Kraft’s  Love is The Highest Way and I am reminded that we should be loving and caring in all that we do. As you shift to love many great things begin to unwind and you begin to see things in a different light. The light of love begins to open more doors and create a better life. There are many ways to spread love.

Spiritual Awakening:Oscar Pistorious, Gabby Douglas Inspiring The World

 

Oscar Pistorius became the first amputee track athlete to compete in the Olympics &  he advanced to the 400-meter semifinals after finishing second in his heat. His triumphant story continues to inspire the world. He was treated like a child with 2 legs growing up his mother would tell his brother put on your sneakers and Osccar put on your legs and if your brother climbs a tree you climb the tree. I have found Oscar’s story to be one of inspiration showing people that regardless of obstacles you can overcome and achieve greatness.

How many times have you been told you can not do something or have you allowed your negative self talk to get in the way? For Oscar Pistorious his taking of action and training to become a top athlete despite the obstacle of  being a double amputee holds a message of hope and achieveent for all as we continue to step into our greatness. Their is something very spiritual about watching this man compete as you can feel the energy  he brings to life come through the TV. The positive vibes that he gives off enhances all those who watch. So the next time you think you can not do something think of Oscar and all he has overcome and go for it.

            Gabby Douglas’s journey to the Team Gymnastics Gold and The Olympic All Around Gold was paved with much sacrifice as she moved from her mother’s home across country to DesMoines, Iowa to train. Her mother a single mom made many sacrifices so Gabby could train  to become an Olympian. Her older sister encouraged her not to quit the sport when she wanted to walk away. Gabby stuck with it and in London performed exquistely to capture 2 gold medals.  Gabby’s comments after winning The Women’s All Around only solidifies the idea that we are guided by a higher being. What is your higher calling and what sacrifices will you make to be a shining light of hope to others.

Spiritual Awakening: Reaching Out and Impacting Lives

When I think of celebrities making an impact I think of Bono from U2. I then start to think we can all be like Bono in our own right be it sharing our knowledge with others  or simply sharing a smile or a kind word.

 Bono of U2 delivers a message of hope in the song Beautiful Day. It is when we wake up that we have a choice to make it a beautiful day despite the weather and any trials and tribulations that we may have. By making a conscious decision to reach out and positively impact the lives of others we are positively impacting our own lives.  Bob Burg speakes about being a go-giver is his book  The Go Giver and his book Go Givers Sell More.

    These two books can be great toolsto help you make a positive impact in the lives of others while improving your personal and professional life.

M.J. Ryan’s Book, The Giving Heart has many stories that will inspire you to be a giver and to help you see the value of helping others.

One  thing we must all realize is that we will face challenges in our life. Some of these challenges will be easy to overcome while others will take a bit longer to overcome. The fact is that we have the power inside of us to meet these challenges and move forward with our mission.

I saw this quote and immediately thought that it is time to face any challenges that may be facing you and to have a plan of action to move through and overcome them. There are many examples of those who have faced challenges and have gone onto do great things that have inspired and empowered others.

 

It is when the sea is rough that you make your best decisions to navigate through the rough seas to find calmness and peace. One way to do this is to quiet the mind through meditation.

Spiritual Awakening: Using The Pause Button

 

This post was inspired by a session I did with someone who kept piling on one issue after another and it became like a massive cd recording so I stated let’s use our pause button and slow down and get to the issues one at a time.  As I began to use waht I call Using The Pause Button I began to realize that most of us all just need to pause from time to time and breathe and thus change how we are dealing with issues. The issues can be resolved when we pause and begin to remove the emotional charges associated with them.

 When we choose to use the pause button we often find what The Big Issue is. Many times it is our own conflict of how we think things should be and how they are. The key is to pause and understand there is a big difference between these and that is when we pause and find tools that can help us overcome the issue. For example you are working for someone and after a few days they send the human resource person over to the site to let you know that in their eyes you aren’t meeting their expectations and they are letting you go.  You get angry and don’t understand, however on your drive home you pause and seek guidance from source/GOD and you realize that this happened as he had bigger plans for you. You then look inside and find that there is a pattern of self sabatoge that you desire to change and you begin to take action steps to change and you soon see better outcomes.

As I was collecting for The American Cancer Society today(6/17/18)  at The Tamarac Cafe Diner I began to think how are my vibes? What vibrational frequency am I giving off? I felt very positive and let my positive energy radiate through out me and onto others. It was amazing what started to occur people began to give and those that did not give were very polite in saying no. I began to observe the actions of many of the people and began to realize that many of the ailments that they suffer go hand in hand with the vibrational pattern that they are giving off.  The experience led me to write this entry How Are Your Vibes?
