Sometimes we need a wake up call to remind us that it is necessary to just let things go because GOD has a better plan or solution in store for us. Today (3/16/15) was such the case as I wa sin a pretty bad way after having an up and down weekend as games were cancelled that i was supposed to announce which would have given $200 that would have improved my financial position. With the games being cancelled it did free me up to help with some fundraising for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton, which was great and I am now at $2204.61 raised. I should have been very happy but the human worry about cash flow was weighing heavy on my mind and heart as I haven’t had steady employment for over 2 1/2 years and today I started questioning if all I was doing was worth it as many of my activities were not income producing. Then when I got to Walmart and The ATM didn’t work and the lady at customer service was a bit snippity and a customer started giving me a tough time I allowed the ugliness of anger to creep in and was shoved which led me to calling the police. After sitting and waiting for the police and realizing where I was wrong and how I was off and my spiritual side was overtaken by my human side I sat and thought is it really worth it to getting angry. After the police came and I settled myself down I apologized to the Walmart lady and the gentleman I got angry with and left Walmart. I sat in my car in quiet reflection and realized that all the anger in the world wasn’t going to manifest the $200 I would have made and that GOD will provide as he always does and not to be so filled with anger. I hope you don’t have to get the wake up call like I did today but that you can step back and realize everything happens for a reason. I began to realize that this pent up anger has led to many set backs and is one of the areas that I must continue to work on. So from today forward when I feel angry I will do my best to take a deep breathe and realize that nothing god can come from being angry and that it only creates blockages for me and thus stops me from enhancing my personal and professionally and stunts my spiritual growth.
From no on I must realize that being a spiritual person in a material world can create frustration only if I allow myself to get caught up in rigors of the material world. I must understand that there is always a solution and that GOD is powerful beyond materials and that he will provide a better way. In learning that all obstacles that are placed in front of me can be overcome with some inner spiritual work. I must remember the teachings to be grateful for what I have have and not look at what I do not have. I must learn that I can not compare myself to others for we are all divine children of GOD who are unique in our own right. I must continue to understand that each time I get angry it only tales away from all the good I have done for others. When I get angry I must call upon my spiritual police, GOD, Jesus, My Angels, and The Ascended Masters so that I remember that I must use my talent for good and remember the fruits of spirit and the other spiritual teachings so that I am seen as whole and complete.
Spiritual Awakening:Daylight Saving Time Loss Or Gain?
As we spring ahead some will say we lose an hour while others will say we gain daylight. The question is what is your perception? As part of the spiritual awakening process I see it as an enhanced opportunity to grow in spirit and strengthen our connection to nature. In getting home at 6 PM and having it still be light out I am able to spend time in the light and reflect in my sacred space. I have also found that when it is lighter out longer I vibrate at a higher level of joy and thus radiate more joy and happiness and as a result find myself having greater success in March – October than in October -March. There is something very spiritual about getting up and watching the sunrise and then being able to stay outside and witness the sunset. In each case we can show gratitude to GOD for giving us a day to be glad and rejoice in the realm of possibilities that are presented to us. I look at Daylight Saving Time as a great chance to spend more time out in nature and to achieve greater things in the community. Though many will see the springing forward as a loss of time I see it actually as an opportunity to become more connected to your divinity as you have a little more daylight to enjoy.
The idea of more sunlight gives me more time to spend in my sacred space so as to create a oneness consciousness while I enhance the mind, body, soul connection. I find the extra daylight allows me to relax more as I don’t like to drive in the dark so the release of stress enables me to be more productive as I look forward to getting home and spending time outside in reflection. I find myself more relaxed during Daylight Saving Time so I would have to say it is a gain for me. In the light I can achieve the greater things that need to be done and have a better sense of purpose as more is being accomplished.
As time passes it is up to us to do what we can with the time that we have. I find that when you can sit in silence at the sunrise and do a gratitude exercise you can set in motion positive events that will propel you to have success in your personal, professional, and spiritual life. When we embrace these time passages we can reflect so we can move forward in a positive direction of our goals and dreams. With a little extra daylight we can finish projects that we were putting off because we used the darkness as an excuse now that excuse has been eliminated so we now have the light to help us bring some projects to fruition.
As many of you who are regular readers of this blog know I am a big fan of The Rocky Movies my favorite being the 1st one. The character Rocky showed a desire to go the distance because no one had ever gone the distance against Apollo Ccreed. Rocky had this internal spirit that kept him going. Some would call it a spiritual awakening as through his training his life began to change as he gained a romantic interest in Adrienne and saw far beyond her outer appearance. We all know how the movie ended Rocky went the distance and achieved a goal and that led to the second movie where Rocky was granted a rematch with Apollo and he won. Rocky shows that following a passion and taking action leads to success. As we go forward in the spiritual awakening process it is important to make a commitment to go the distance and stay on our path allowing things to unfold as GOD has intended.
The key in being awake and aware and embracing your spirituality is to know that GOD plans for you are far greater than any plans that you may have in store. GOD wants to prosper you and reward you, however you must commit to going the distance with GOD and allow him to lead you to the promised land. In living a purpose driven life guided by GOD in which you create a oneness consciousness you will see great things unfold in your personal and professional life. In waking up and making a declaration that today is the day the lord hath made and I will rejoice and be glad in it you will set the tone to go the distance in all that you do. In committing to do things with the end in mind and going the distance you will set in motion all that is necessary to manifest the life you desire.
As the day unfolded today this song stuck in my head. As someone who believes in messages as part of the spiritual awakening process I realized it was a message to share the concept of relaxing and letting things flow because in the end the only one who controls things is GOD. Being an action taker I have found myself trying to force things and this was creating some blockages and making accomplishing certain goals seem impossible. I decided to sit in a hot bath and light some candles and relax and meditate. As a result I was told that the theme of my day should be to relax and just let things flow. It was when I started to let things flow that I experienced more peace and joy and things seemed to get accomplished. In looking at the things I can control and accepting the things I can’r and understanding that when it is all said and done it is GOD’S plan after all. The key know is to let GOD direct us on our spiritual path towards growth and enlightenment. In relaxing and worrying less we open up channels that allow us to receive and thus we mover forward in a positive direction towards our goals and dreams.
A perfect example of relaxing and letting it flow happened recently as I ran a spirit nigh for Relay For Life with Tijuana Flats and hadn’t received the check yet so I inquired and received an email that stated a check for $142.59 was mailed to the address on the w-9 which was nit the address I had given them. Instead of getting angry and pointing blame as I would have done in the past I took a deep breath and called The American Cancer Society and explained calmly the situation and they are looking into it and will credit me and my Relay For Life with the donation. It may take some time to post to http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2, however I can take solace in knowing that it will post and those touched by cancer will be helped with research, education, advocacy, and services. I have also learned hat sometimes people will not follow directions and not to get made at them but to just let it flow. I have learned that people will also say they are going to donate and not donate so I shouldn’t get mad instead I should relax and know that in the end GOD will sort everything out.
Spiritual Awakening: Trick Or Treating With A Purpose!!!
As I awoke today I was given a message on this Halloween to Trick Or Treat With A Purpose!!!! Though I am 49 years old and a little bit old to go door to door I answered this call from my spiritual guides and began to post the following message on Facebook and Twitter, TRICK OR TREAT Instead of candy I am asking everyone to visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2 and donate to help those affected by cancer. I put it out there and detached from all expectations and decided to just let it flow as it may and understand that those meant to donate will visit the site and make a donation. As I continued through the morning posting this message I received the message to go to Starbucks like I do each Friday but instead of giving out hugs today hang a sign that says Strike Out Cancer Today and to dress up as a baseball player and to play the role of relief pitcher. I made a sign on my computer and went to Starbucks, where I am now writing this entry from. Again I am detaching from the expectations and just allowing things to flow and those that are meant to come my table will do so and make a donation and any money collected will be more than I had when I started. The idea is to use the resources we have to Trick Or Treat With A Purpose Today!!! We have a great opportunity to spread our message and to shine our light so that the entire world becomes illuminated.
Imagine there is a knock on the door and as you hand out the candy you hand out sheets with bible verses on them as well. If not bible verses perhaps affirmations or quotes. This will allow you to share your spiritual awakening with others and perhaps help people to either get on a spiritual path or to continue on their spiritual path, You may get some blow back by taking this action to share your message. Another great thing to do is to hand out messages from the ascended masters and explain that Jesus is an ascended master. In using Halloween and trick or treating as a catalyst to spread the word you will be trick or treating with a purpose.
Spiritual Awakening: Leave Expectations At The Door!!!
Through the spiritual awakening process an important aspect to learn and apply is that of detaching from expectations. This lesson was very evident as I decided to put my passion into action and run POINTS FOR THE CURE FOOTBALL EDITION for The NCAA and NFL Games played from 10/22-10/28. I thought with all the chatter on Facebook and Twitter about football that this fundraiser for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton would be well received and the donations would start to pour in. I thought how easy, people agree to donate $.25 (25 cents) per point their team scored and then after the game visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2 and make their donation. I asked if their team was not playing that they donate $5 or if their team didn’t score at least 20 points that they would donate $5. I thought in taking action and promoting this concept that people would jump on board and the donations would simply flow in. Boy was I mistaken I found out that many who profess to be doing well on social media are sometimes the excuse makers who are putting on a facade. After I got over my initial disappointment I began to meditate and I realized tat those who are going to participate and donate will do so and those meant to be involved will be. As soon as I turned back to my spirituality I realized that whatever money comes in at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2 is a blessing. When I stopped focusing on all those who did not participate and started to show gratitude to those who did participate I felt better and realized that one must check the expectations at the door.
As you check the expectations at the door you begin to experience more joy as you allow things to flow and accept that not everyone will resonate with your message but the ones who do will support you. In checking our expectations at the door we allow ourselves to be open to receiving the messages that GOD wants us to hear and then we are able to take action and see what comes about. In all we do we must change our perspective and be grateful for the chances we had to be of service and value and the lessons that we learned by taking action. I learned that perhaps Facebook and Twitter are not the best places to promote a project like POINTS FOR THE CURE or Fundraisers maybe it is better to go out into the community and share the message directly with the people. I often say we never know who we will meet when out in the community and what doors may open. In the spiritual awakening process it is important to get out and share our journey as it might positively impact someone’s life.
In the final scene from the movie, Grease, everyone came together to celebrate the milestone of turning the page and going froward with their personal and professional lives. For many of us it is a spiritual awakening when we make the decision to come together fort he common good of all people. In Grease Danny Zucko (John Travolta) and Sandy (Oliva Newton John) made changes and sacrifices finding common ground so that they could have a caring and loving relationship. If only life was like the movies where at the end most everyone comes together and the world is better for them setting aside their differences and making positive changes.
In coming together one must embrace their dreams even if to others they seem impossible. To those that say it is impossible explain to them that the word itself says I am possible. Then find people who share in your dream and your vision and have them come together. Think of yourself as the lone snowflake in a storm along you may have some power but gathered with other snowflakes you are the most powerful. You can also look at the power that you have and that others have and harness it to come together for the greater good of humanity. It is when we step into our power and shine our light that we give others permission to step into their power and shine their light thus the entire world is illuminated. Gather the dreamers and help them to turn their dreams into reality and you will see how powerful you truly are.
In poker the best hand you can achieve is The Royal Flush. To achieve the royal flush in life one must be able to flush out all the negativity in their life and remove what no longer serves them. In seeking the royal flush in life one must become an action taker. How many times have you made excuses and fell short of the royal flush in life? Ask yourself why was it that you didn’t pursue the royal flush? What excuses did you make and then justify? We will either find a way or we will find an excuse.
If you were dealt a royal flush in poker chances are you would go all in? In life if you want to achieve a royal flush you must go all in and live life full out. In seeking the royal flush in life changes have to be made. If you are unhappy with the way things are in your life look at what is creating the unhappiness and what can be done to reverse that feeling. In our human existence we will encounter times of trial and tribulation some which may bring unhappiness. It is at these times that we must look inside ourselves make the mind, body, soul connection and find the joy that lies underneath all the layers of unhappiness. We can sit an wallow in pain or we can stand up and do something.
In the spiritual awakening process it is important to understand that you are limitless. In becoming limitless we begin to see that we can reach new heights. In being awake and aware we realize that anything is possible and nothing can stop us but ourselves with our limiting beliefs. It is when we take action to erase the limiting beliefs that we are able to do the things that we once thought were nearly impossible. With the right amount of grit and determination and a positive mindset we can do amazing things. So many times we want to reach new heights but we make an excuse or find a reason that blocks us from taking the action to experience an awakening that will enhance our personal and professional life. What is it that may be creating blockages for you to reach new heights?
As I was searching for material for today’s (7/23/14) entry I came across this speech made by Maya Angelou in honor of Andrew Young. It is her poem Still I Rise which reminds us to face challenges and overcome and to use the obstacles that are put in our life as stepping stones to reach new heights. In making a commitment to rise and put our limiting beliefs aside we begin to create a better life for ourselves and others. It is when we make the conscious decision to shine our light that we brighten up the world with our positive actions. Sometimes it is in getting real with ourselves that we rise to heights that we only once we imagined.
Spiritual Awakening: Judge Thee Lest The Be Judged!!!
As part of the spiritual awakening process it is imperative to remove judgment and detach from situations so that you can make the mind, body, soul connection. It is important to leave the EGO at the door and to allow things to flow as GOD has a master plan for you. It is when we judge that we miss out on what can be a great interaction or experience. How many times have you made a decision based on your pre judgment only to find out that you missed out on a personal and professional growth experience? How many times have you forgot everything and ran because you pre judged the experience instead of committing to the experience and facing everything and rising.? How many times have you looked passed someone and lost out on an opportunity to be lifted because your EGO got in the way? Judgment is perhaps the biggest obstacle to becoming awake and aware. When you remove judgment and begin to interact with people you will see amazing thing happen.

I was recently at my local Starbucks and a gentleman walked in and he was very unkempt, he was walking around asking for money. I told him I wouldn’t give him money but I would buy him a bagel. I bought him the bagel and asked him to sit down and we talked for a while I found out that he had worked most of his life and due to some circumstances beyond his control he was left in a financially challenging situation. I gave him some pointers and I hope he acted upon my advice. I thought what If I would have looked at him as a beggar and a loser and not a human being who could be made whole with a bit of guidance and support. Ask yourself how many times you are judging people? Then do your best to remove this judgment from your being. In peeling back the onion and getting to know people you begin to remove judgment and as a result your personal and professional life is enhanced. In today’s world so many people miss out because they are so busy passing judgment that they never experience to joy or interaction.
