As I listened to the song Circle of Life from the movie, The Lion King, I was reminded about some of the occurances over the last several weeks, which have reminded me to cherish each moment and to enhance people’s lives by simply being a positive force for them to turn to. The last 4 weeks have been a true awakening with the passing of Kathy Dedek, my mother, and the mudslide that took Dr. Lynn Migdal’s home in British Columbia along with her ex-husband passing as a result, her two daughters are still missing and we hold out hope that they will be found alive.
As I sat and questioned GOD the answer came as it is the circle of life. As I began to meditate on this I began to realize that we come into this world as dust and we leave this earth as dust. The circle of life is an easy concept to grasp however the questions many as we live our lives as spiritual beings having a human experience. Many times it just takes a moment of introspection to understand how we are all intertwined in the universe and that the circle of life does not end in the passing of someone it continues for them in the spiritual world, where they can be of service to those left behind. The signs that I have seen in the last 10 days since my mother’s passing have shown me that she is okay and doing things from the other side. Her legacy of sharing and caring liveson in my deeds an each day I find a way to hold a sacred space for her in my mind and my heart. She may not be with me physicallly, however the signs that I have encountered truly show me that she is looking out for me.
Today’s blog entry is inspired by Janet Lee Kraft who shares a message of love and hope through her music and ministry.
Spiritual Awakening: Shine Your Light
Inside of each of us is a bright light to be shared with the world so as to show others our greatness and to exhibit grace for others to follow. I often ask people the question How Bright Is Your Light? I ask this question to delve deep into the fact that they have a gift and a talent to give to the world so as to enhance the lives of others while enhancing their own personal and professional light. Many people have a light that is waiting to be turned on and shared and all they need is a bit of encouragement from those arround them.
Neil Diamond delivers a message to turn on your heart light and to let it shine for everyone to see. It is your time to shine and let the world see just how great you are. You have the power inside of you to be a shining light to those you come in contact with. How Bright Is Your Light? is a question to answer by seeing the impact you are making on the lives of others.
One thing we must all realize is that we will face challenges in our life. Some of these challenges will be easy to overcome while others will take a bit longer to overcome. The fact is that we have the power inside of us to meet these challenges and move forward with our mission.
It’s when you run away that you’re most liable to stumble.”
Screenwriter and Producer, Casey Robinson
I saw this quote and immediately thought that it is time to face any challenges that may be facing you and to have a plan of action to move through and overcome them. There are many examples of those who have faced challenges and have gone onto do great things that have inspired and empowered others.
It is when the sea is rough that you make your best decisions to navigate through the rough seas to find calmness and peace. One way to do this is to quiet the mind through meditation.
There is a website www.freemeditations.com that can assist you in implementing the practice of meditation that can help you to face your challenges.
The following quote is often attributed to Goethe and delivers a great message. “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
Life gives us amazing twists and turns along the way. Our path may be altered by the circumstances, however it is when we begin and take action that great things begin to happen. Today I had a great talk with Coach Shantel Springer about the power of beginning and creating value in your services. After I hung up the phone I started to think what are you waiting for you have an idea that has been int he planning stages for awhile allow it to take flight and begin the process. It is by taking action that you begin to step into your greatness. It is not a matter of when you begin it is that you begin.
Today’s blog post was inspired by David Bowie’s Song Changes in which he realizes that a person can change over time but that person can not change time.
Spiritual Awakening: Here Is Your Change?
As I was making calls for a client today (6/27/12) I began to hear all the exceuses and many of the lack words that I have been avoiding and catching myself when I find myself using them. On one occassion I decided to tell the person you want change here is your change as I could tell that the thing holding them back was their thought process. I wasn’t argumentive I stated if they wer truly serious about making a change then the way they communicated needed to change. The person said thing like I am above average to which I said let’s try having you say I am great at what I do and people pay me top dollar for my services. I have found when you make this small change you and truly believe this that you begin to attract the clients and obtain the bookings that you have been seeking. It is when you change your verbage that you can truly change the outcome to the one you desired.
Brett Hart of the WWE used to have his catch phrase, I am the best there is, the best that was, and the best there ever will be. One of the first changes one can make to improve their circumstances is to adopt this philosophy for it is when you believe that you are the best at what you do and you carry yourself as such that others will do the same. The change starts to come when you start to believe and you make changes to fit this new belief.
As I was collecting for The American Cancer Society today(6/17/18) at The Tamarac Cafe Diner I began to think how are my vibes? What vibrational frequency am I giving off? I felt very positive and let my positive energy radiate through out me and onto others. It was amazing what started to occur people began to give and those that did not give were very polite in saying no. I began to observe the actions of many of the people and began to realize that many of the ailments that they suffer go hand in hand with the vibrational pattern that they are giving off. The experience led me to write this entry How Are Your Vibes?
As I read Mary Morrissey’s, The Miracle Minute, today the passage I read was about Sowing Your Good and this inspired me to write this blog entry as I have witnessed so many people that are sowing their good. It is when you begin to sow your good that you begin to open up the channels of reception and that you will begin to be rewarded. It is when you give of yourself and do things without expectation of return that the biggest gains are made. It is important to monetize yourself and your brand as the money that comes in can be used to sow your good. I often do events where I will set aside a percenatge of my emcee fee for a charitable cause as I know when you give to others and help to further their mission you will also be create a flow that will help you to further your mission.
I have seen many people sowing their good recently as they have become lifters in their community and beacons of hope to others. The list is quite extensive as evidenced by my list of friends on facebook who continue to pass their knowledge on to help others. I recently had the opportunity to connect with Rev. Cortez Mack who has a documentary film What About The Children that will inspire you to sow your good to help future generations.
Phil Collins expresses the idea of facing challenges in his song Against All Odds, Take a Look At Me Now
Spiritual Awakening: Against All Odds
This post was inspired by the Phil Collins song Against All Odds as I was thinking how many of us are beating the odds and making a positive impact in the world. I started to ask what odds were you given and did you accept them or did you say the heck with the odds I am going to do it anyway. When Dr. Wayne Dyer was looking for a publisher he was turned down on several occasions for his book Your Erroneous Zones, however he didn’t give up or give in he found a publisher and he began to promote and as a result has become one of the top professionals in the personal development field. The power to overcome the odds lies with in us all as we become action takers and go forward in the positive direction of our goals and dreams. Many may tell us it can’t be done because they themselves fear trying to do what we are doing. Many have baggage that they haven’t worked through or haven’t unpacked. As you unpack and release your baggage you will see that you can become an achiever and go against all odds.
Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men express an idea of going against the odds to speak to the angels that watch over you in heaven.
Michael Jackson’s Man In The Mirror shows the way to way to make a change and it reminds us that all change starts with us.
Spiritual Awakening: The Man In The Mirror
As the news of Donna Summer’s passing came across the wire I began to get very introspective and to take a look an the man in the mirror. Donna’s songs had mad a major impact on my childhood and today in my adulthood I find myself still moved by her music. As I reflected I began to post on facebook that people can visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg8265 and honor Donna with a donation to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. I also began to think what will my legacy be? Donna Summer will forever be part of our lives as her music lives on.
Donna Summer reminds us that sometimes things are one of a kind and that we will not have the recipe again. The message I share from this song is to start from scratch and see what happens.
A few days after Donna Summer passed word came in that Robin Gibb lost his battle to cancer. Again I put out the post honor Robin Gibb and anyone touched by cancer and help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays by visiting http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg8265. I then began to post songs that Robin was known for through The BEEGEES and began to take a look at myself and ask what impact am I making?
I chose this BEEGEES Song love somebody as a reminder to love yourself.
Spiritual Awakening: Loving The Man In The Mirror
In order to create a legacy and make a positive impact the first step is to love the person looking back at you. This is the most difficult step in the path as we are often told from a young age you are not good enough or you don’t have talent and through out our lives we reinforce this. Now is the time to shift your thoughts and to look at yourself as capable. In the morning when you look at the man in the mirror say:
1: I am loved and deserve to be loved
2: I am accomplished and continue to accomplish great things
3: I am good enough, qualified, and loved
4: I look good, I feel good, I will do good
5: I attract the people meant to be in my life
6: I attract joy and abundance easily and effortlessly
This will help you to create that auora of self love and thus enable you to be a shining light for others.
A question to ask is who do I see when I look in the mirror.
Do see the roaring lion inside of you? It is time to let him/her loose. Remind yourself you are strrong and gifted. Stop allowing negativity to hold back your greatness. There are those who may doubt you as they don’t see the same person you see, don’t allow them any space in your head and surround yourself with caring and encouarging people.
Spiritual Awakening: Tool To Improve The Reflection of The Man In The Mirror
1.Become an action taker. As you look at that refelection tell the man in the mirror to gof for it you are capable of achieving gteatness.
2. Play some music that you can adopt as your anthem- I like to play Janet Lee Kraft’s Album
3. Begin to write a journal and document your awakening
4. Make a wall of people you consider award winners and use them for motivation and inspiration
5. Explore your calling and take step to follow the calling and come alive
Peter Frampton asks us to show others the way. By finding your way and reflecting on the man in the mirror you will help others find their way.
Spiritual Awakening: The Man In The Mirror – Final Thoughts
As you look in the mirror remember that you become what you think abouit so thing positive and highly about yourself and be a shining light for others to see.
Neil Diamond inspires us to turn on our heartlight.
As you begin to really look at the man in the mirror you will evolve and emerge as the person you wish to become.
Okay where did your mind go with this title? I am not talking about the use of marijuanna or other substances to alter your thinking, I am talking about the use of stones and crystals to further your journey on your spiritual path. I first kearned about stones and crystals from Sonia Alexandra, who you can find more information about at www.stonehealing.com. By understanding stones ans chrystals you will be able to heal yourself and thus help to heal others.
One way to use the crystals(gemstones) is to carry them with you in a bag and each day cleanse them so as to increase their powers.
I found the following at www.old-earth.com that will help you in cleansing your stones:
Cleanse and Charge Your Gemstones and Crystals
Crystals and Gemstones Need to be Cleansed As we work with our Gemstones; either to extract electro-magnetic energies to cleanse or introduce them to build support structure; some of the residue remains. Even if someone holds the crystal to simply admire it, a trace of their field lingers. These traces are not “bad” or “evil”, just as dirt is not “bad” or “evil”. However, the energetic impulse traces will affect the stones and, therefore, an accumulation needs to be cleansed away.
