Spiritual Awakening: The Dropped Pass!!!

Header linksOne may ask what does football have to do with spiritual awakening? The answer is so simple as in football and in life a dropped pass can turn a game a round or turn a life around.  I have  watched many a football game and each game has that one moment that turns the momentum from one team to another and most likely it involves a dropped pass. As you trace your life back on your own personal gridiron how many passes can you say you caught and how many have you dropped. When you have dropped the pass have you found out why and made adjustments so the next time that pass is thrown your way way you can catch it. Each drive in football has a consequence. Every decision in life has a consequence as well. Sometimes that dropped pass in life is a blessing because you can run another route or a play and have a different outcome. The greatest victory is in overcoming the dropped pass.

Oregon Ducks vs Ohio State Buckeyes I watched The Oregon Ducks take on The Ohio State Buckeyes for The National Championship on 1/12/2015. As I watched Marcus Mariota throw a pass on 3rd down that should have been caught I thought what a shift as Oregon punted and Ohio State marched down the field on a 97 yard touchdown drive to tie the game at 7. The ducks took the ensuing kickoff and were driving when again Mariota found a wide open receiver who unfortunately dropped the ball and forced Oregon to punt. Oregon punted and Ohio State again marched down the field to take a 14-7 lead. Oregon would be in scoring position but Ohio State would stop them. The teams would exchange points and the half would end with Ohio State up 21-10. Ohio State would be stopped and Oregon would kick a field goal then Oregon would capitalize with a 71 yard touch down pass to make the game 21-20 Ohio State. Ohio State would take over the game and go on to win The National Championship 42-20.  I share this with you because like a football game our lives have a ebb an flow and if you drop too many passes you lose out. In life these passes are shown as opportunities given to us in spiritual code.  If we take the proper action and have the proper game plan and execute all of our patterns we grow in mind, body, and soul.  Look at  the passes being thrown your way and if you are catching them or dropping them.

Spiritual Awakening: Bloom Where You Are Planted!!!

 

Bloom Where You're Planted  In the spiritual awakening process it is important to bloom where you are planted. So many times I have heard people well if I move to xyz from abc things will get better. Things will only get better if you commit to changing your self and the way you act.  If you are bitter and angry nothing changes until you remove the bitterness and the anger. If you come from a position of lack nothing changes until you embrace the fact that their is an abundance being provided to you. The other day I was speaking to someone about  being a guest on my TV Show, The Anything Bucket, which airs on www.wrpbitv.com on Tuesday at 6:30 PM EST. The conversation turned to the concept of how far down the rabbit hole do you want to go?  As I hung up the phone I thought of Alice and Wonderland and her journey down the rabbit hole and  how at the end her perspective had changed. She understood that wherever she ended up she would have to thrive there. You can move time and time again but until you remove personal and professional baggage that inhibits spiritual growth everything remains the same.

We have all heard the term the grass is greener on the other side. This is not true the grass is greener where you water it. To expand and grow  one must look at and answer the question of how are you taking care of your grass.  Are you embracing your divinity and creating a relationship with GOD? Are you nurturing yourself  allow yourself to evolve? Many times we look at other people’s lives and see them as they are today and not where they  came from or the journey  they are traveling.

Spiritual Awakening: Stuart Scott Leaves a Spiritual Lesson!!!

stuart-scott.jpgAs most of you who read this blog on a regular basis know I am a broadcaster and an avid sports enthusiast. One of my favorites was Stuart Scott who on January 4, 2015 was called home to GOD after battling cancer for the 3rd time. His speech at The 2014 ESPY Awards after receiving The Jim Valvano Perseverance Award was captivating and inspiring. How Stuart Scott battled with grace and dignity teaches us many spiritual lessons. Stuart’s love for his family and those he worked with and came in contact with taught is all that love is a great power to share.  Stuart was authentic and this came across in all he did. I remember writing him an invite to come to The Relay For Life and receiving a gracious reply that he was unable to attend. Stuart taught the world to live life to the fullest and if you are over the top you may just impact lives in a positive manner.  As I reflected on the life and times of Stuart Scott I realized that he had an amazing way of connecting with people. Though I never met Stuart Scott I feel like he was part of my life as I studied him and have emulated his professionalism. Stuart taught us to take action and to go after our dreams while being our authentic self.  As we honor Stuart let us look at those who have made a positive impact on our lives and honor them as well. Let us take the final words of his ESPY Speech and live life full out.

He showed us all how important it is to always do your best.  Stuart Scott was more than just an award winner and a broadcaster he was a man with conviction and compassion. If we could all be half as good as Stuart Scott was we can make our world a better place.  Stuart Scott answered a calling and helped us all to come alive and reminded us all just how important it is to be of service and value.  Far beyond the face on a TV Screen Stuart Scott was a man who will always be remembered for his impact not only in The Sports Broadcasting Industry but on our society.  I am hoping that those reading this entry will honor his memory with a donation to help cancer patients and their families at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2.

Spiritual Awakening: A New Year’s Cleanse!!!

 As I awoke today (1/1/2015) it was only fitting that it was raining outside. While some would curse the rain  and complain I took it as a sign of  cleansing to start fresh. As the rain continued to fall I thought about growth and the idea of growing and expanding personally, professionally, and spiritually.  If you are to truly expand you need to shrink first and eliminate that which no longer serves you like the rain eliminates the foliage that has died so a tree can have new life and bear fruit you must eliminate that which mo longer serves you. If you are to expand professionally you must shrink your focus to the things that will help you move forward in a positive direction of your dreams. If you have to many things to offer you may be trying to hard to be good at all of them when you can be great at a few of them. In order to expand spiritually you must shrink your focus to 1 or two principles and then master those so that you can build upon them. If you want to become proficient at meditation pick a few spiritual leaders to follow instead of trying to follow every spiritual leader out there. Pick 2 or three that truly resonate with you and study them and then apply their teachings. Instead of attending every seminar that is offered pick one or two that resonate with you. If you have a library of personal or spiritual development books that you are not using  and that can be handed on to others take a moment to clean out the library and begin to shrink down the collection and begin to apply that which truly resonates with you.

 There are many great tools to help you conduct a cleanse for The New Year. One tool I found is this Tibetan Meditation that will help you get center and focused so that you can achieve the goals that you have set forth for 2015. Each day we have an opportunity to cleanse and remove that which doesn’t serve us. Sometimes it is simply clearing our minds through meditation so that we can make better decisions  that will enhance our personal, professional, and spiritual lives.  I have found that after listening to a meditation like this I am able to evaluate many of the aspects in my life effectively as it relates to people, place, or things. If you know someone is toxic to your well being then make it a point to not associate with that person. If you know certain places are bad triggers for your personal and spiritual well being then do your best not to go to those places. If you have things in your life that are detrimental to your well being do your best to eliminate them.  The key is to understand that sometimes shrinking actually expands us personally, professionally, and spiritually.

Spiritual Awakening: Turning The Page!!!

 As I listened to Bob Seger’s Turn The Page I began to think about spiritual growth and how important it is to turn the page and not to hold onto to the past for too long. In the past and up until now I would fret over things and then I would realize that worry holds no purpose for when it is all said and done the only voice that matters is the voice of GOD. Through Studying The Ascended Masters like Jesus I have learned that all we can do is to perform at our highest level in all that we do and glorify GOD. If we do this as we awaken spiritually we move along our spiritual path and will be led to enlightenment.  In our human existence we run into many challenges for our way of doing things is a bit different that what others perceive to normal.  As a spiritual being having a human existence it is important to turn the page and move ahead in our spiritual development realizing that there will always be those who do not understand us and that it is not our job to drag them kicking and screaming onto our path but rather to shine our light that they will want to come along with us willingly.  As I reflect in 2014 I can take solace in knowing that I did what I felt was right in my heart and that I was directed by GOD to make a positive difference in my life and the lives of others.  I came to the realization that though our society judges success by the material things that one has there is more to life than just the materialistic one must have a spiritual compass that allows them to be in tune with their inner divinity. I have  learned that one must have a sense of purpose in order to find success. I have  learned it is not the what you do that matters but the why. I have learned that not everyone will share the level of passion you have and that sometimes people will say they they want to do something but when it actually comes to doing it  they may not come through.
 When I have difficulty in turning the page and moving on I turn to the teachings of spiritual leaders like Don Miguel Ruiz.  The best gift I was given a few years ago was a gift from my mother, The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz.  These teachings have helped me and many others to move positively in the direction of our dreams.

Spiritual Awakening: Let It Go!!!

 As 2014 fades in the rearview mirror and 2015 begins to appear in the windshield I think of the most important lesson learned through the spiritual awakening process in 2014, Let It Go!!! The greatest action we can take is to let go of people and things that no longer serve us.  As difficult as it may be to severe relationships that no longer serve us it is necessary if we are to move forward in a positive direction of our goals and our dreams thus allowing us to develop spiritually. In letting go we release negativity that may have  created blockages in our personal and professional life thus allowing us to be open to receive more positive experiences in our life. Sometimes we must take a serious look at the people we associate with and see how they enhance our life and what they are doing to lift us. In looking at the people we associate with we can see a lot of ourselves and if we see flaws in them we can look at those flaws as a reflection of ourselves and do something to improve our own flaws so that we can continue to evolve spiritually. Recently I had a situation with someone who committed to making a donation to The American Cancer Society Relay For Life and when asked for the donation he got all defensive and told me via the phone it is out of my hands I lodged a formal complaint against you with The American Cancer Society. I told him are you friggin kidding me over $18.70 when you are the one who made the pledge. This is someone who was pointing the blame on me say I don’t like your attitude instead of  seeing where he contributed to the problem. I was upset that he forged a complaint and then thought really I have raised $1564.82 so far for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton and have  garnered many accolades over my 15 years of fundraising that they will most likely take it from where it came and we will turn the page and move forward. I know I will more than make up for the $18.70 that this man didn’t donate simply by sharing http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg2  and having people make donations. In bringing it up here for the last time I am able to let go and put my energy into the positive things that people are doing  for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton.

January 16: Know that no one is capable of making you upset without ...  In letting go of the negative and focusing on the positive like the product donations from Doreen Virtue, Louise Hay, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Serena Dyer, Michael Neil, Sonia Choquette, Joyce Meyer,  Lisa Eva Gold, and World Wrestling Entertainment I have been able to shift my  energy and improve on my vibrational field so as to attract more positive results in my quest to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Spiritual Awakening: 2015 A Year Of Growth and Expansion!

 If we do not stand for something  we will fall for anything. In the spiritual awakening process it is important to understand that what we focus on grows and expands. If you want love in your life you must stand up for love and be loving and caring in all you do. If you want peace in your life you must be able to curb anger and find peaceful solutions. If you want money in your life you must be willing to allow it to flow freely to you and from you. If you want kindness in your life you must be kind to others.  When you declare that you will take action to grow and expand it is important not to make this just merely a statement but a daily practice. As you awaken spiritually and find that you are making a strong mind, body, soul connection you will observe many fundamental changes that will allow you to grow and expand.  I declared 2014 as The Year Of Transformation and each day I worked toward transforming my life so that I would experience personal growth, spiritual growth, and professional growth. As a result of taking daily action and working positively toward my goals I was able to have success as I touched many lives. Through the spiritual awakening process I was able to understand that money is not the main measure of success despite many people looking at the materialistic possessions as opposed to the spiritual gifts that someone may be bringing to the interaction. If you truly are going to grow and expand you must change the mindset and make a commitment to be of value and service. In 2015 it is important to be more alive, more aware and awake, so that you can have a positive effect on you and your community. If one truly is to grow and expand they must look at their thoughts and their decisions and be willing to detach from the past and not project to the future thus living in the moment. By living in the moment and spreading peace, love, joy, and prosperity wherever you go you will find that you are growing and expanding.  In growing and expanding and working on yourself you will experience the entire gamut of emotions. This is okay as it is okay to be laugh, to cry, to be angry, and to have emotions as long as they do not overtake your present moment awareness.  many times our growth and expansion come as a result of our willingness to let go and let GOD. When we get intune with the inner divinity that lies within all of us we become more aware thus allowing for growth and expansion. Through out the spiritual awakening process we will discover that everything is in divine order just the way GOD intended it to be.

 One of the greatest tools that I have discovered in the spiritual awakening process is that of meditation.Last night (12/24/2014) I had a not so friendly encounter with someone who professed to be a Christian but was acting very un-christian like. I got angry and then I sat in meditation and I prayed that GOD would forgive him and put compassion and love in his heart. I was having all types of emotional feelings as I really had no one to share Christmas Eve with and I was a bit sad and frustrated, however I realized that I am not the only one who may be experiencing these feelings.I meditated and turned to my inner divinity and the message I received was to let it go and to go forth and shine my light by offering FREE Hugs at my local Starbuck’s On Christmas Day and to take solace in the knowledge that I am a divine child of GOD and GOD Loves me. In 2015 I plan on using meditation as a tool for growth and expansion.

 

be authentic The greatest tool you have is the courage to be yourself and let your light shine. If you are like me and have a zest for life let it come out and don’t care what others may think for those that are meant to resonate with you and your message will get it and thus they will be attracted to you.  If you put yourself out there and stand for peace, love, joy, and prosperity you will encounter haters and that is okay because it means you are doing something right. Don’t  take it personally continue to shine your light and work toward growing and expanding. Remember at the end of the day the only one to please is GOD. When you honor and praise GOD by being true to yourself you will be rewarded.

 

Love › love 240Show love and be caring in all you do and you will see a massive shift in the way you are perceived. Seek the answers through scriptures and you will experience a growth and expansion like you never imagined.

Spiritual Awakening: Times They Are A Changing!!!

As relevant today 38 years after this song was performed in 1966 it is important to understand that through out the spiritual awakening process the times will continue to change. As the times change it is up to us to adapt and become more self aware so we can make the changes to thrive. It is when we awaken spiritually that we are able to make changes. Today for those that watch the news you are bombarded by tragic events as media manipulation has led many to become sheep and not understand that every individual is a spiritual person with a power to affect change. Many of these sheep are sheep only because they have not been awakened yet. many are sheep because of the fear that they hold and have not realized that the world becomes a better place when individuals share a common goal of being of service and value to one another. I often think what would happen if we all shut off the TV, radio,  and social media for a week and began to interact and effectively communicate with one another?  When was the last time you knocked on a neighbors door just to say hello and see if they needed anything?  The world today has so many people that are self serving that they have lost their way and we are being inundated with the sad upsetting stories for the media is being used to control us.  It is time to change  and to awaken and to become the powerful individuals that we are that when we work together for a common goal things change for the better. I hear people complain everyday about things an when asked what action they are taking to change them I hear oh I can’t do anything. I tell them yes they can they can become engaged in the community and begin to change the world one person at a time. Some people feel powerless and they do not understand that they have a  divine power inside them that when connected no one can conquer.

It is when we reach down inside of ourselves and discover our own divinity that we will affect positive change. We will question why GOD does what GOD does for that is human nature, however their is always a reason. Recently I questioned why GOD would take a 15 year old boy from his family and call him home after a hit and run accident?  I could find justifiable answers  as it was a wake up call to all of us to take better care of the kids or maybe it was done to rally a community to become stronger and start talking to one another. The rationale answers and the humanistic answers all make sense however the true answer lies with in the spiritual teachings and the messages that lie with in. The answer I received when I asked GOD was to show people to value life. Many times we buy into the media manipulation that reports on cops being killed, which is tragic but they don’t tell of the 1000’s of cops who made it home safely after their shift. If we are truly to affect change we must look at the balance that is out there in our everyday life. I remember asking GOD why he took my mom on July 5, 2o12 and I was told so she wouldn’t suffer any longer and to use you fro a purpose of being love and showing love while helping cancer patients and their families. In understanding the messages I have been able to make effective changes in the lives of those I come in contact with.

There are many great tools available to us to help change the world however if we are to change the world we must first change ourselves.  In our transformational process that is led by our spiritual awakening we will not only transform our life but we will inspire others to transform theirs.  It is stated that the journey of 1,000 miles starts with the first step so it is time to take that first step and see what changes occur along our path. One way to change ourselves and those we come in contact with is to commit to being a lifter and spreading peace, love, joy, and prosperity wherever you go. Spiritual Awakening: Everyday Should Be Christmas!!!

This is the day the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it ...As those who celebrate Christmas begin to prepare to celebrate the birth of the savior, Jesus Christ, I begin to look at what Christmas represents and think what if everyone had a spiritual awakening and we could make Christmas everyday. I am not saying with the commercialized version of Christmas but the true spiritual meaning of fellowship showing that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations. It would be great if everyone decided that they would rejoice and be glad in the day that the Lord hath made and do things that would promote peace, love, joy, and prosperity.  I have often said wouldn’t it be great if people took action to make Christmas everyday.  What a world it would be if we could all get together on the same wave length and start helping one another simply by getting in touch with our divine calling and moving forward in a positive direction to answer that calling. Think about doing something kind 365 days out of the year. It doesn’t always have to be about giving money to a charity even though that it nice it can be as simple as holding a door open for someone, or letting someone go ahead of you in line, or simply smiling at some one and wishing then a great day. If you make it an anthem to make Christmas everyday you will see a shift in your life and in the lives of those you come in contact with. if you look at the teachings of the ascended masters and follow the #1 ascended master, Jesus, you will be divinely guided with your purpose. If you awaken each day with the idea of being of service and value to others you will be rewarded.

35+ Most Beautiful Christmas Background, Merry Christmas Everyone!!Today as I held the door open for someone at Starbucks I said Merry Christmas and they smiled and said thank you. In this simple act of kindness I saw a shift on myself and the person I held the door open for. In doing acts of kindness we are able to show that service to humanity is the best work of life.  Through out the spiritual awakening process I have learned that when you do everything with love and kindness in your heart you will find success. What if for today and each day following you committed to doing things differently using the spiritual principles of Christmas and shying away from the materialism, what do you think would happen?  I was asked what if you say Merry Christmas and the person says I don’t celebrate Christmas and gets real defensive?At that moment I take a deep breathe and say GOD Bless You. If they turn and say I don’t Believe in GOD I say okay hope you have a joyous day. The key is to detach and diffuse and be your authentic spiritually awakened self.  I believe  that both Hanukkah and Christmas represent miracles and the celebration of these miracles should be honored not only during the designated holidays but daily.

Spiritual Awakening: Let’s Get Synergistic!!!

พลังผนึกและชิ้นส่วนภาพ Through the spiritual awakening process I have noticed that things are very synergistic and that when you begin to peel back the onion you begin to see how everything is interrelated. As I was planning for The Slam Dunk Cancer Basketball Game, which will take place on 12/20/14 at 7:30 PM EST at Boynton Beach High School I though wow The South Florida Gold’s colors are purple and gold and this is really fitting as purple is the official color for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life representing all cancers and gold is the color for pediatric cancer.I found it fascinating that there was this type of synergy and how other things were interrelated.

It is a special synergistic relationship that they have as they trust one another and work daily on their routine.  When you make that spiritual connection and you create synergy you will see that things in your personal and professional life flow better. When your vibrational patterns resonate with others you are able to connect on the cellular level and thus find that synergy that helps all parties to be successful. It is when you are in tune with others that you are able to create synergistic relationships where all parties benefit. In many cases it is just a matter of asking and answering the question of how can I be of service and value to others?  When you are able to find synergy you will see that you attract the right people to you to assist in exceeding your goals and objectives.  I have learned over the years that the key is to get out of your own way and to allow GOD to direct you to find synergistic relationships. In finding synergistic relationships it is important to detach the belief and mindset of what is in it for me and remove the idea of  direct reciprocity. The law of reciprocity is that if you help and lift others you will be rewarded not by the person you helped directly but from another source.  When you commit  to being kind and helping others you will see kindness coming back to you  and you will receive help. I sat in a Starbucks one afternoon and hung my FREE HUGS Sign and many people came over to inquire what it was about I explained it and gave out business cards and as a result created a few synergistic relationships where I could be of value and service to others. One young couple was very moved by what I was doing that they donated $10 to The American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I asked them for their card so that I could recommend them if anyone needed their services. One key to success is to stay committed to being of service and value to others. Make it a point to make people feel important and lift them up and you will be amazed how you will be rewarded.
