Spiritual Awakening: Removing The Shackles and Finding Your Freedom

 

 As I sat in the audience at The Women of Faith Conference in Sunrise, FL listening to Mandisa sing her version of  this song that was originally done by Mary Mary I kept thinking how many people are being shackled by their choices and haven’t found their freedom. Then I thought how can I help you break the shackles and find your freedom and the answer was to share this blog entry with you. Mandisa gave a very  moving  testimony that showed those in attendance that regardless of the current circumstances you can break free and remove the shackles that may be holding you back. As she shared her story about bing eating I thought wow I have been there. When she shared that once she began loving herself and realized she was loved her life began to shift and her path became clearer and today her message is being shared with people worldwide. I encourage you to begin each morning with some type of ritual that will help you to remove any shackles that are holding you back.
 Mandisa and Toby Mac deliver a message taht will help you to have a good morning and a good day as you continue to break the shackles and find your freedom.

 

 It is when we truly break out of the shackles and realize we have a power inside of us that is given to us by the divine taht we truly find freedom.  Think about those who are telling you it can be done, or that will never work, or you are not good enough and begin to edge them out of your life and move forward because happiness and prosperity is your birth right.

For those that read this blog on a regular basis you know I am a big proponet of books and implementing what you have learned from the books. At Women of Faith I had the opportunity to hear Sandi Patty perform her music and give her testimonial. Her books and music will help you break the shackles and to discover your freedom. Brenda Warner was also there, though I didn’t hear her speak her story is motivational and inspiring. Brenda is married to Kurt Warner, whose story of going from a stock boy to a Superbowl MVP is amazing.

 

   

I have often mentioned that the use of humor or comedy is a great tool to help break free. I had the opportunity to hear Mark Lowry at Women of Faith and you have to see him to fully understand his message.

 Mark Lowry also has a serious side as evidenced by his son Mary Did You Know. When I saw him sing this on Friday 10/26/12 at Women of Faith I teared up.


As you continue to remove the shackles and find your freedom you will discover quotes and affirmations that will help you on your path.

 

 

   

Meditation is a great tool to use to break the shackles and to find your freedom. The following video will help you.

Spiritual Awakening: The Circle Of Life

As I listened to the song Circle of Life from the movie, The Lion King, I was reminded about some of the occurances over the last several weeks, which have reminded me to cherish each moment and to enhance people’s lives by simply being a positive force for them to turn to. The last 4 weeks have been a true awakening with the passing of Kathy Dedek, my mother, and  the mudslide that took Dr. Lynn Migdal’s home in British Columbia along with her ex-husband passing as a result, her two daughters are still missing and we hold out hope that they will be found alive.

As I sat and questioned GOD the answer came as it is the circle of life.  As I began to meditate on this I began to realize that we come into this world as dust and we leave this earth as dust. The circle of life is an easy concept to grasp however the questions many as we live our lives as spiritual beings having a human experience. Many times it just takes a moment of introspection to understand  how we are all intertwined in the universe and that the circle of life does not end in the passing of  someone it continues for them in the spiritual world, where they can be of service to those left behind.  The signs that I have seen in the last 10 days since my mother’s passing have shown me that she is okay and doing things from the other side. Her legacy of sharing and caring liveson in my deeds an each day I find a way to hold a sacred space for her in my mind and my heart. She may not be with me physicallly, however the signs that I have encountered truly show me that she is looking out for me.

Before we begin to remove emotional baggage we must first define what emotional baggage is.

Emotional baggage can be defined as ‘Painful memories, mistrust and hurt carried around from past sexual or emotional rejection’.[1]

It is an image of ‘a big sack that you carry around with you at all times…[with] every disappointment, trauma, and wrong that you’ve ever experienced….This image, the metaphor of emotional baggage, has penetrated our culture’.[2]

What emotional baggage are you carrying? Well it is now time to unpack and only keep the things in you bag that will serve you and help you become a better person personally and professionally.

 It is time gto throw that suitcase away and release the emotional baggage that may be holding you back.  We all have had pain for some it is physical, some mental, and for some both. The events of our life that we couldn’t control can no longer be allowed to control us. What ever the painful memory is it is time to find a way to let it go for when you let it go and release your emotional baggage you can move forward. Many times we hold onto to things emotionally and we find ourselves in a rut because we have associated all these negative emotions with the situation. It is time to become an action taker and do something to remove the emotional baggage. It can be as easy as adopting a new song to help you get over the situation and remove the emotional baggage.  This blog entry was inspired by my mother, Judith Miller, who suffered a heart attack on 6/28/12 and is in ICU at The Northwest Regional Medical Center in Margate, FL. The photo to the left is a sample of her art work.

Spiritual Awakening: A Mother’s Love

As I turned to leave my mother, who is in ICU after suffering a heart attack she said I Love You. I could see that it hurt her just to talk. Over the last 3 years my mom has been through a lot from being diagnosed with non-operable metastatic lung cancer and beating that to yesterday( 6/28) having  a heart attack. As I left I started to recall all the time my mother has been there for me and began to let go of some of the baggage that I held about times and circumstances that no longer serve me. As I unlocked my car with tears rolling down my face I felt a cleansing happening and my tears subsided as I realized how lucky I am to have my mother still of this earth and as I focused on her loving me and being grateful for that my day began to improve and my worries subsided. This gave me the inspiration to write this blog entry and to help others to appreciate their mother’s love and to help mother’s realize that we are always your kid and we will always love you. For those whose mother may not be of this earth anymore I remind you that you carry her love in your heart and can communicate with her anytime you wish just by opening up your heart and speaking to her as she is your angel.

As I was collecting for The American Cancer Society today(6/17/18)  at The Tamarac Cafe Diner I began to think how are my vibes? What vibrational frequency am I giving off? I felt very positive and let my positive energy radiate through out me and onto others. It was amazing what started to occur people began to give and those that did not give were very polite in saying no. I began to observe the actions of many of the people and began to realize that many of the ailments that they suffer go hand in hand with the vibrational pattern that they are giving off.  The experience led me to write this entry How Are Your Vibes?

Spiritual Awakening: Creating Your Power Source

I have had the honor and pleasure to meet Bert Oliva and interview him on my radio show, Get Motivated With Jonathan JDOGG Lederman, which is heard at www.blogtalkradio.com/thirdeyradio1 on Monday from 7-8 PM EDT. On my show we spoke about power and finding your power source and  Bert broke down the word Power into the following acronyn.

P= Passion, which when broken down is Pass I On meaning to pass yourself on and to use your knowledge to help others achieve their goals and objectives.

O= Opportunity, Look for the opportunities that are available for you to step into your power and to positively impact the lives of others remember that by helping others get what they want you will get what you want.

W= Wealth most want it but don’t know how to obtain it. One way is to pay yourself first. For example each time you earn money take 10% and put it to the me fund. Then pay your bills and meet your obligations.

E= Education, though you may have ended your formal education it is very important to educate yourself and invest inyourself be it through books, seminars, or other avenues the more you learn the more you will earn.

R= Real, be your authentic self don’t be afraid to let the world know about your flaws and how you have overcome them.let people know who you truly are. Define yourself by not letting others define you.

 Most of our power comes from our heart. From the moment we are conceived we begin to develop our inate intelligence and as we develop in the womb the brain is formed first and then the spinal cord and then all the other human elements. We come out and are immediately spanked to show that we are awake. Then something happens all the power we had in the womb is usurped as we become dependent on the outside world. We begin to explore and as we grow we learn to crawl, then we learn to walk and then we start to run. We begin to formulate our beliefs and many times we give our power away. Then one day we discover that all the power we need lies with us and we begin to discover our power source. We begin to tear down all the limiting beliefs that have held us back. Like the scene from Network we run to the window and we shout as loud as we can that I am mad as hell and I am not going to take it anymore. It is at that moment we discover our power source.

Spiritual Awakening: Ways to Discover Your Power Source

1: Stop listening to those who doubt you– I remember having on teacher tell me I would be lucky to amount to anything and another that wrote in my year book To a young man with a lot of potential if he would only use it. In 1988 I was reunited with both as I was substituting at the middle school where they both taught and that I had attended. I went up to the one who doubted me and introduced myself and said How Are you Liking me Now. I walkedup to the other and thanked him. BY letting go of the doubters and listening to the encouragers I am finding success.

2: Surround yourself with those that lift you up and inspire you– I recomend a brag wall at your home or strategically placed items that can set the tome for a positive limitless mind set. At my home I have many photos and quotes that inspire me. I look at them everyday and thus set the positive attitude in motion.

3: Stop and just breathe-  Many times take a deep breath and evaluate the situation.

4: Meditate-  Find a quiet spot wherever you may be and clear your mind and let the messages flow in and out and ask your higher self for guidance and direction.

5; Believe that greatness is your birthright- remind yourself that you are great and that greatness is something you deserve.

Okay where did your mind go with this title? I am not talking about the use of marijuanna or other substances to alter your thinking, I am talking about the use of stones and crystals to further your journey on your spiritual path. I first kearned about stones and crystals from Sonia Alexandra, who you can find more information about at www.stonehealing.com.  By understanding stones ans chrystals you will be able to heal yourself and thus help to heal others.

One way to use the crystals(gemstones) is to carry them with you in a bag and each day cleanse them so as to increase their powers.

Spiritual Awakening: Incense, Insight, and More

As I was getting ready to write this blog I closed my eyes and inhaled the incense and asked source what I should write about and source answered with this headline. I am alsways amazed how when I burn my incense and close everything else off that answers to my questions appear. When I tell people about the practice of buring incense many of those not on a spiritual path scoff. I take a breathe and intrnally say to myself they don’t know what they are missing. I often will draw a hot bath, light some candles, put on a mediation cd, like the one I have from Sonia Alexandra, burn the incense and clear my mind to get grounded. I also like to do this ritual using a cd my mother gave me of tribual and natural sounds.  I have also found that listening to instrumentals, tribal chants, sounds of nature will asssit with gaining insight thus contiuning on a spirtual path to personal growth and enlightenment.

There have been times when I will go to the big pool at The Sunrise Lakes Phase III Clubhouse and make a small quiet peaceful area for myself with the incense buring while I read books like Ernest Chu’s Soul Currency, Amy Hammond Hagberg’s How Do You Know He is Real, Guy Finley’s The Seeker, The Search, The Sacred, and others that are now in my library for spiritual growth.

 Spiritual Awakening: What Is Your Calling?

A question I am often asked is JDOGG, How do I find my calling? I answer with by seeing what is bringing you joy in your life and bringing joy to others. In finding your calling their may be challenges like the one I had this month where I took a job at a local bowling center and after 10 days was let go and told that I wasn’t meeting the owners expectations. I took this as a sign that GOD had a better plan for me. After I clocked out and told a few people the phone rang and it was another bowling center seeking a volunteer coach. I took this as God’s way of telling me that I was not meant to be behind the counter of a bowling center handing out shoes, and ringing people up for their bowling, but that I was meant to use my gift and coach and thus create joy for myself and others. Eachtime I have left a job or been asked to leave a job I have realized it is one more brick on the path to finding my calling.

 Finding your calling is an everyday path that we walk as we continue to look at how we are spending our day. One way to find your calling is to track your day and make notes about the things that you are doing and the feelings they evoke.

Spiritual Awakening: Starbucks Sharing And More

As I stopped into the Strabucks located close to Diamond Strike Lanes to prepare for my shift today I began to realize how important it is to implement the 3 foot rule, talking to people who are with in 3 feet of you and to begin to share. I had tickets for The June 2, 2012 Miami Fury Women’s Tackle Football Game when they will host The Tampa Bay Inferno and asked a gentleman if he liked football and he said yes and I told him about the game and he said his wife will love this so i gave him 4adult tickets and 4 youth tickets. We got to talking and he thanked me for the tickets. I use this story to illustrate how important it is to share with others as you never know the lives that you may touch.

 

Sharing the opportunity for people to celebrate life by participatimg in a variety of activities is a great way to spread joy through out the community.
