Spiritual Awakening: One More Day!!!
The news broke on Sunday morning of the passing of Jose Fernandez and 2 others in a boating accident. The world lost 3 young individuals who were being of service and value through their various platforms. An entire community mourned and looked for answers. This news left many asking fro just one more day to sped time with their loved ones who have been called home to GOD. Later in the day the news broke that Arnold Palmer had passed ad again many were saddened. As I sat in reflection of this news I began to realize that life is precious and that every moment should be cherished. Each day someone who s in your life is here on earth you should make it a point to acknowledge them and lift them so that you are not left wishing for one more day.
As I did my best to wrap my head around the passing of Jose Fernandez I began to look back on the passing of another one of my favorite baseball players, Thurman Munson, who passed on my 14th Birthday on August 2,1979. I started to understand that this is a circle of life and when GOD feels you have served your purpose here on earth he will call you home to his kingdom. As I watched the memorial for Jose Fernandez while I was working at Sinbad Sports I was in a quandary as to whether or not it was right to make money off of the tragedy of losing someone. I began to understand that it was the nature of the business that I was in and realized that with people purchasing jerseys and memorabilia it would help them through the grieving process. As I began to sell T he JoseFernandez items I realized that with each sale I was able to give a little bit of compassion to the lives of those that were impacted by Jose Fernandez. I was also reminded that I had a responsibility to be a shining light of hope and healing to those I came in contact with so that peace, love, joy, and understanding became the theme of the day. each day families across the world have to deal with the passing of those that have passed and when the passing is sudden it shakes the very core of their spirituality. It is at these times that we must realize that everything that occurs happens for a reason and the only one who truly knows why is GOD. When the passing of those that we admire come we must make sure that we carry on their legacy by bringing bliss and prosperity wherever we go. We can learn from Jose Fernandez to be joyful and grateful. We can learn from Thurman to be loving and compassionate. We can learn from those who have gone before us to be loving in all we do. It is through the trials and tribulations that we grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.
